Joy Goeben
Joy L. Goeben (born October 16, 1972) is an American teacher, business owner, and Republican politician from Brown County, Wisconsin. She is a member of the Wisconsin State Assembly, representing Wisconsin's 5th Assembly district since January 2023. Biography Joy Goeben was born and raised in Green Bay, Wisconsin. She graduated from Green Bay East High School and then earned her bachelor's degree in education from the University of Wisconsin–Green Bay, and completed her master's in education at Walden University. She then went to work as a teacher in the Ashwaubenon, Wisconsin, public school system. Later, she opened the Joyful Hearts Family Childcare preschool center, which she operated for ten years. She also assists her husband in the management of their family business, Classic Carpet Cleaning. She is a member of the board of Christ Alone Church Leadership, and has also been a member of the board of the non-profit Green Bay Area Christian Homeschoolers. Political car ... Wisconsin's 5th Assembly District
The 5th Assembly District of Wisconsin is one of 99 districts in the Wisconsin State Assembly. Located in northeast Wisconsin, the district comprises most of the eastern half of Outagamie County, including the city of Kaukauna, as well as the town of Hobart in western Brown County. The district also includes nearly all of the Oneida reservation spanning the two counties. The district is represented by Republican Joy Goeben, since January 2023. Ashwaubenon () is a village in Brown County, Wisconsin, Brown County in the U.S. state of Wisconsin. The population was 16,963 at the 2010 United States Census, 2010 census. A suburb of Green Bay, Wisconsin, Green Bay, Ashwaubenon is part of the Green Bay Green Bay metropolitan area, Metropolitan Statistical Area and carries a Green Bay mailing address. Part of the Oneida Nation of Wisconsin is in Ashwaubenon. History The U.S. military bought most of the west side of Green Bay, Wisconsin from the Sioux in the 1850s and 1860s, except the area that would later become Ashwaubenon. That land belonged to two daughters of Chief Ashwaubamy, a Sioux chief. They began selling their land to local farmers and landowners in the late 19th century. One of the owners was Jacques Vieau. 2022 Wisconsin State Assembly Election
The Wisconsin State Assembly elections of 2022 were held on Tuesday, November 8, 2022. All 99 seats in the Wisconsin State Assembly were up for election. This was the first election to take place after redistricting following the 2020 United States census. Before the election, 61 Assembly seats were held by Republicans and 38 seats were held by Democrats. The primary election was held on August 9, 2022. Wisconsin Elections Commission
The Wisconsin Elections Commission is a bipartisan regulatory agency of the State of Wisconsin established to administer and enforce election laws in the state. The Wisconsin Elections Commission was established by a 2015 act of the Wisconsin Legislature which also established the Wisconsin Ethics Commission to administer campaign finance, ethics, and lobbying laws. The two commissions began operation on June 30, 2016, replacing the Wisconsin Government Accountability Board (GAB), which was abolished. The Government Accountability Board had been established in 2008 to replace the Wisconsin Elections Board and Wisconsin Ethics Board.
