Jovair Arantes
Jovair de Oliveira Arantes (born Buriti Alegre, June 4, 1951) is a Brazilian politician. Jovair Arantes is an advisor and has been leader of the Atlético Goianiense. Jovair is known for being the rapporteur of the impeachment of Dilma Rousseff in the Chamber of Deputies. His report was, then, approved and proceeded to the Plenary to be voted by all of the 513 deputies. On 7 July 2016, deputy Eduardo Cunha (PMDB-RJ) resigned of his office of Speaker of the Chamber. Acting Speaker Waldir Maranhão called in for new elections on the same day. Chamber Of Deputies (Brazil)
The Chamber of Deputies ( pt, Câmara dos Deputados) is a federal legislative body and the lower house of the National Congress of Brazil. The chamber comprises 513 deputies, who are elected by proportional representation to serve four-year terms. The current President of the Chamber is the Deputy Arthur Lira ( PP- AL), who was elected on 1 February 2021. Structure The number of deputies elected is proportional to the size of the population of the respective state (or of the Federal District) as of 1994. However, no delegation can be made up of less than eight or more than seventy seats. Thus the least populous state elects eight federal deputies and the most populous elects seventy. These restrictions favour the smaller states at the expense of the more populous states and so the size of the delegations is not exactly proportional to population. Eduardo Cosentino da Cunha (born 29 September 1958), is a Brazilian politician and radio host, born in Rio de Janeiro. He was President of the Chamber of Deputies of Brazil from February 2015 until May 5, 2016, when he was removed from the position by the Supreme Court. BBC News labeled him the "nemesis" of Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff. He was indicted in the scandal known as Operation Car Wash (Portuguese: ''Operação Lava Jato'') involving the state-owned oil company Petrobras and other corporations.
