José Segrelles
José Segrelles Albert (18 March 1885 - 3 March 1969) was a Spanish painter and illustrator. He was the uncle of cartoonists and painters Eustaquio and Vicente Segrelles.Cuadrado (2000), pp.1148–1149. Biography Segrelles was born in Albaida, Valencia province, in 1885. He studied in the Saint Charles Royal Academy of Fine Arts of Valencia and at Escola de la Llotja in Barcelona. His first job was in a photography studio, working with illumination. In 1926, already established as an artist in Spain, Segrelles received his first English lessons, foreseeing a possible departure to England. That very year he made an exhibition in London which was poorly received but on 8 September 1926 he received an offer from British magazines ''The Illustrated London News'' and ''The Sketch''. Due his appearances in ''The Sketch'', Segrelles received offers from Scandinavian press. Redbook
''Redbook'' is an American women's magazine that is published by the Hearst Corporation. It is one of the " Seven Sisters", a group of women's service magazines. It ceased print publication as of January 2019 and now operates an article-comprised website (redbookmag.com). History The magazine was first published in May 1903 as ''The Red Book Illustrated'' by Stumer, Rosenthal and Eckstein, a firm of Chicago retail merchants. The name was changed to ''The Red Book Magazine'' shortly thereafter. Its first editor, from 1903 to 1906, was Trumbull White, who wrote that the name was appropriate because, "Red is the color of cheerfulness, of brightness, of gaiety." In its early years, the magazine published short fiction by well-known authors, including many women writers, along with photographs of popular actresses and other women of note. Valencia ( va, València) is the capital of the autonomous community of Valencia and the third-most populated municipality in Spain, with 791,413 inhabitants. Segrelles Museum
The Segrelles Museum, dedicated to the painter Josep Segrelles, is a culturale site in the city of Albaida, Province of Valencia, in Spain. After living and working in Barcelona and New York, Segrelles decided to take up residence in his hometown in 1932. In 949, basing on designs made during his stay in the United States, he began to build what would later become his house-museum, where he lived and painted until his death on 3 March 1969. This house-museum houses a large retrospective collection of the artist, from early works including family portraits, to his posthumous oil ''The Pentecost''. In the museum there are also illustrations for novels of Blasco Ibáñez, for Dante's ''Comedy'', for passages in the fifth and ninth symphonies of Beethoven, for tales of ''The Thousand and One Nights'' and other authors such as Edgar Allan Poe, H. Blue Parrish
Blue is one of the three primary colours in the RYB colour model (traditional colour theory), as well as in the RGB (additive) colour model. It lies between violet and cyan on the spectrum of visible light. The eye perceives blue when observing light with a dominant wavelength between approximately 450 and 495 nanometres. Most blues contain a slight mixture of other colours; azure contains some green, while ultramarine contains some violet. The clear daytime sky and the deep sea appear blue because of an optical effect known as Rayleigh scattering. An optical effect called Tyndall effect explains blue eyes. Distant objects appear more blue because of another optical effect called aerial perspective. Blue has been an important colour in art and decoration since ancient times.
