José Pérez Francés
José Pérez Francés (27 December 1936 – 30 September 2021) was a Spanish professional road racing cyclist. He finished four times on the podium of Vuelta a España and won three stages, although he never won the overall classification. He also finished third in 1963 Tour de France, after Jacques Anquetil and Federico Bahamontes, and won a stage in 1965. Santander, Spain
Santander () is the capital of the autonomous community and historical region of Cantabria situated on the north coast of Spain. It is a port city located east of Gijón and west of Bilbao with a population of 172,000 (2017). It is believed to have been a port since ancient times, due to its favorable location, and is documented as far back as the 11th century. Much of the medieval city was lost in the Great Fire of 1941. Road bicycle racing is the cycle sport discipline of road cycling, held primarily on paved roads. 1962 Vuelta A España
The 1962 Vuelta a España was the 17th Vuelta a España, taking place from 27 April to 13 May 1962. It consisted of 17 stages over , ridden at an average speed of . Jacques Anquetil started the race with the intention of winning it and becoming the first cyclist to win all the three grand tours. However, injury forced him out of the race. His St. Raphael-Helyett team dominated the race, with the team taking the leaders jersey after the second stage of the race. Rudi Altig and Seamus Elliott both wore the jersey with Altig taking it off the shoulders of Elliott after winning the final individual time trial on the 15th stage. The 1961 Tour de France was the 48th edition of the Tour de France, one of cycling's Grand Tours. It took place between 25 June and 16 July, with 21 stages covering a distance of . Out of the 132 riders who started the tour, 72 managed to complete the tour's tough course. Team Time Trial
A team time trial (TTT) is a road bicycle race in which teams of cyclists race against the clock (see individual time trial for a more detailed description of ITT events). The winning team in a TTT is determined by the comparing the times of (usually) the fourth-finishing rider in each team (though the relevant finish position can be otherwise specified in advance by the race organisers). This means that each team will try to get their first four (at least) riders across the finish line in a tight group: it is actually a disadvantage for any rider to finish far in advance of the fourth rider, as by staying back a faster rider can help the fourth rider to get a quicker time. Where a TTT is part of a stage race, it is necessary for each rider to be given a finish time that can be cumulated into the general classification timings. Volta A La Comunitat Valenciana
The Volta a la Comunitat Valenciana (; en, Tour of the Valencian Community or Tour of Valencia) is a road cycling stage race held in the Valencian Community (''Comunitat Valenciana''), Spain. Its position in the cycling calendar means it is often used as preparation for the spring classics or the grand tours which take place later in the season. No editions of the race were held between 2008 and 2015 because of funding issues. A first attempt to revive it for the 2010–11 UCI Europe Tour was unsuccessful. During 2015 a second attempt was started by Ángel Casero and his brother Rafael. In September the UCI granted the race a 2.1 status and made way for the return of the race which took place in early February.
