José Luis González (volleyball)
José Luis González (born 27 December 1984) is an Argentine volleyball player. He was part of the Argentina men's national volleyball team at the 2014 FIVB Volleyball Men's World Championship in Poland. On club level he plays for Paris Volley. Volleyball
Volleyball is a team sport in which two teams of six players are separated by a net. Each team tries to score points by grounding a ball on the other team's court under organized rules. It has been a part of the official program of the Summer Olympic Games since Tokyo 1964. Beach volleyball was introduced to the programme at the Atlanta 1996. The adapted version of volleyball at the Summer Paralympic Games is sitting volleyball. The complete set of rules is extensive, but play essentially proceeds as follows: a player on one of the teams begins a 'rally' by serving the ball (tossing or releasing it and then hitting it with a hand or arm), from behind the back boundary line of the court, over the net, and into the receiving team's court. The receiving team must not let the ball be grounded within their court. The Liga Argentina de Voleibol – Serie A1 (in English: Argentine Volleyball League – A1 Level) is the top level of the Argentine men's professional volleyball league system. It is organized by the ''Asociación de Clubes Liga Argentina de Voleibol'' (abbreviated to ACLAV). The Serie A1 has promotion and relegation with the Serie A2, the league immediately below. Volleyball At The 2015 Pan American Games
Volleyball competitions at the 2015 Pan American Games in Toronto was held from July 16 to 26 at the Direct Energy Centre (Exhibition Centre). Due to naming rights the arena was known as the latter for the duration of the games. A total of eight men's and women's teams competed in each respective tournament. The tournament was affected by the 2015 FIVB Volleyball World Grand Prix, FIVB Volleyball World Grand Prix and the 2015 FIVB Volleyball World League, FIVB Volleyball World League which were played at same time. 2014 FIVB Volleyball Men's World Championship
The 2014 FIVB Volleyball Men's World Championship was held in Poland from 30 August to 21 September 2014. The tournament featured 24 teams to determine the world champions in men's volleyball. In addition to the host nation Poland, 23 teams qualified for the tournament by means of continental and regional competitions. The matches took place in seven venues across seven Polish cities, with the final being held at Spodek, Katowice. The tournament was won by the host country Poland, who beat Brazil (who won the previous three titles) in the final. Poland became the third team in the history of the competition to be crowned as champions in their own country, joining the Soviet Union (1952 and 1962) and Czechoslovakia (1966). 563,263 fans watched the matches during the 18-day event, smashing the previous records in the competition.
