José Joaquín Rodríguez Zeledón
José Joaquín Rodríguez Zeledón (6 January 1837 – 30 November 1917) was List of Presidents of Costa Rica, President of Costa Rica from 1890 to 1894. Rodríguez was born on 6 January 1837. He studied law at the University of San Carlos of Guatemala, but owing to family matters and economic circumstances he had to break off his studies and return to Costa Rica. However, he did eventually graduate with a law degree from the ''Universidad de Santo Tomás'' in San José, Costa Rica, San José. He was a prestigious lawyer who had never made any active forays into the country's politics, but he had distinguished himself as the Magistrate of the Supreme Court of Justice (''Corte Suprema de Justicia''). For a short time he also occupied the post of Secretary of State in Bernardo Soto Alfaro, Bernardo Soto's government. Ramón Bernardo Soto Alfaro (12 February 1854 – 28 January 1931) was President of Costa Rica from 1885 to 1889. He took office when his father-in-law, President Próspero Fernández, died in office in 1885, and in a gesture of national conciliation following the fiercely disputed election for his successor, decided to hold himself apart from office on November 7, 1889. Rafael Yglesias Castro
Rafael Anselmo José Yglesias Castro (18 April 1861 – 10 April 1924) was a Costa Rican politician who served as President of Costa Rica for two consecutive periods from 1894 to 1902. Biography He was born to Demetrio Yglesias Llorente and Eudoxia Castro Fernandez, whose father was also president, the "Founder of the Republic" José María Castro who served two terms, 1847–1849 and 1866–1868. Yglesias traveled to the United States and to Europe to further his education. He also studied law at the university of Santo Tomas, but was unable to complete his studies due to his parents' economic difficulties at the time.
