José Jiménez was a fictional character created and performed by comedian Bill Dana on ''The Steve Allen Show'' in 1959 and who became increasingly popular during the 1960s. José Isabel Jiménez (April 19, 1915 – January 20, 2014) was a Mexican baseball journalist, author and broadcaster. His nickname was "Chabelo". José Mariano Jiménez
José Mariano Jiménez (August 18, 1781 – June 26, 1811) was a Mexican engineer and rebel officer active at the beginning of the Mexican War of Independence. Mariano Jiménez was born in San Luis Potosí. He studied in the Colegio de Minería in Mexico City to become a mining engineer. He graduated in 1804. He soon moved to Guanajuato, where he was able to follow the progress of the conspiracy led by Miguel Hidalgo that aimed to achieve the independence of Mexico from Spain. A few days after the war started, Jiménez joined Hidalgo's army and was able to rise quickly in rank until he achieved the rank of lieutenant colonel. He distinguished himself on the battlefield, such as during the Battle of Monte de las Cruces where his positioning of the artillery line was instrumental for the rebel victory. José Jiménez (born July 7, 1973) is a Dominican former professional baseball pitcher who played in Major League Baseball (MLB). He appeared in seven seasons from 1998 to 2004 for the St. Louis Cardinals, Colorado Rockies, and Cleveland Indians. The Cardinals signed him as an amateur free agent in his native Dominican Republic in 1991. Jiménez' career in MLB commenced as a starting pitcher with the Cardinals and he converted to relief pitching with the Rockies, saving more than 100 games. As a rookie with the Cardinals in 1999, Jiménez pitched a no-hitter in the first of two consecutive starts defeating the Arizona Diamondbacks and future Hall of Famer Randy Johnson in 1−0 complete game shutouts. José Ximénez, José Jiménez or Jusepe Ximénez (baptized 25 December 1601; died 9 August 1672) was a Spanish organist and the composer of 23 surviving works. Born in Zaragoza, he became the assistant of Sebastian Aguilera de Heredia in 1620 and succeeded him as principal organist at La Seo after the latter's death in December 1627. In 1654 he turned down an appointment to the royal chapel in Madrid, and seems to have spent the rest of his life in Saragossa. Ximénez's works have appeared in collections by F.
