José Domingo Domingo (born March 3, 1959, in Barcelona) is a politician and Catalan lawyer, a member of the Parliament of Catalonia in the eighth term. Biography He was born in the neighborhood of Verdum. A sympathizer of the Labor Party of Spain in his youth, he graduated in Law from the Autonomous University of Barcelona in 1981 and has been a Social Security lawyer since 1989. In 2000, he was elected president of the ''Professional Association from the Department of Social Security Administration'' (APLASS), a post he held until 2006. He has also been part of the Boards of Directors of the ''Spanish Association of Health and Social Security'' (AESSS) and of the ''Federation of Superior Bodies of the Civil Administration of the State'' (FEDECA). Programs of education in the Catalan language exist today principally in Andorra and the Catalan-speaking regions of Spain. Somatemps
Somatemps is a collective in Catalonia generally considered to be aligned with the far-right of Spain and also of being Spanish nationalist. They state to be committed to defend what they call "the hispanic identity of Catalonia". It was founded between 2011 and November 16, 2013 in Santpedor ( Bages), where one of its founders, Josep Ramon Bosch, resides. The organisation is led by Javier Barraycoa. Currently Somatemps has around 300 members. The name of Somatemps was intended as word-play between ""—"we are in time" (to stop independentism)—and the medieval Catalan militias . Societat Civil Catalana ("Catalan Civil Society", SCC by its Catalan acronym) is a Barcelona-based grass-roots organisation that was created in 2014 with the aim of promoting Catalonia’s union to Spain. Most of SCC activities seek to counter the Catalan independence movement. SCC was officially launched on 23 April 2014. Structure Fernando Sánchez Costa is the current president, since June 26, 2019. Catalan Nationalism
Catalan nationalism is the ideology asserting that the Catalans are a distinct nation. Intellectually, modern Catalan nationalism can be said to have commenced as a political philosophy in the unsuccessful attempts to establish a federal state in Spain in the context of the First Republic (1873-1874).
