José Carlos Fernández (Peruvian Footballer)
José Carlos "Zlatan" Fernández Piedra (born 14 May 1983 in Trujillo, Peru) is a Peruvian footballer who plays as a center forward for Peruvian Primera División club Carlos A. Mannucci. He is nicknamed "Zlatan" because of his physical resemblance to Swedish footballer Zlatan Ibrahimović. Club career Fernández began his playing career in early 2000 with local club Defensor Taller de Laredo. Then in 2002 he transferred to Sport Coopsol Trujillo. Fernández made his official debut in the Torneo Descentralizado on 22 September 2002 in round 11 of the 2002 Torneo Clausura. His debut match was played at home in the Mansiche Stadium against Coronel Bolognesi, which ended in a 4–0 loss for Coopsol Trujillo. Trujillo (; qu, Truhillu) is a city in coastal northwestern Peru and the capital of the Department of La Libertad. Estadio Mansiche is the biggest stadium of the city of Trujillo and the home of the most important football clubs in the city, Carlos A. Mannucci and Universidad César Vallejo. 2002 Torneo Descentralizado
The 2002 Torneo Descentralizado was the 86th season of the top category of Peruvian football (soccer). It was played by 12 teams. The national champion was Sporting Cristal. Competition modus The national championship was divided into two and half-year tournaments, the Torneo Apertura and the Torneo Clausura. Each was played on a home-and-away round-robin basis. The winners of each would play for the national title in a playoff, but a team had to finish in the top 4 in both tournaments to earn the right to play the final. If the same club had won both tournaments, it would have won the national championship automatically. Following-season Copa Libertadores berths went to each half-year tournament winner, and the best-placed team in the aggregate table.
