Josué Modesto dos Passos Subrinho (born 22 January 1956 in Ribeirópolis, Sergipe) is a Brazilians, Brazilian professor of economics at the Federal University of Sergipe. He is currently Rector of the Universidade Federal da Integração Latino-Americana Brazil. Biography He graduated with a degree in Economics from the Federal University of Sergipe in (1977). He has a master's degree (1983) and a PhD (1992) in Economics from the Universidade Estadual de Campinas UNICAMP. He has taught at the Federal University of Sergipe, among other institutions. Sergipe
Sergipe (), officially State of Sergipe, is a state of Brazil. Located in the Northeast Region along the Atlantic coast of the country, Sergipe is the smallest state in Brazil by geographical area at , larger only than the Federal District. Sergipe borders Bahia to the south and west and Alagoas to the north. Aracaju is the capital and the largest city in the state; the state is divided into 75 municipalities. The state has 1.1% of the Brazilian population and produces only 0.6% of the Brazilian GDP. The Federal University of Sergipe ( pt, Universidade Federal de Sergipe, UFS) is a Brazilian public institution based in Sergipe, with campuses in São Cristóvão, Aracaju, Itabaiana, Laranjeiras, and Lagarto.
