Josse Joseph De Lehaye
Josse Judocus Joseph de Lehaye-Dael (28 May 1800 – 22 September 1888) was a Belgian magistrate and liberal politician. As a politician, he was a member of the National Congress, burgomaster of Merendree, member of the municipal council and mayor of Ghent (1854–1857), member of the provincial council of the province of East Flanders and a member of parliament. He was President of the Belgian Chamber of Representatives from 25 April 1855 until 13 June 1857. Burgomaster (alternatively spelled burgermeister, literally "master of the town, master of the borough, master of the fortress, master of the citizens") is the English form of various terms in or derived from Germanic languages for the chief magistrate or executive of a city or town. The name in English was derived from the Dutch ''burgemeester''. Nevele () is a village and former Municipalities of Belgium, municipality located in the Belgium, Belgian province of East Flanders. The municipality comprises the towns of Hansbeke, Landegem, Merendree, Nevele proper, Poesele and Vosselare. In 2018, the municipality of Nevele had a total population of 12,179. The National Congress (french: Congrès national, nl, Nationaal Congres) was a temporary legislative assembly in Belgium, convened in 1830 in the aftermath of the Belgian Revolution. Its purpose was to devise a national constitution for the new state, whose independence had been proclaimed on 4 October 1830 by the self-declared Provisional Government. Noël Delfosse
Noël Joseph Auguste Delfosse (; 9 March 1801 – 22 February 1858) was a Belgian lawyer, industrialist and liberal politician. Biography Delfosse graduated as a doctor in Law at the University of Liège and started his career in Liège as an attorney. He was selected as a liberal representative in the municipal council after the Belgian Revolution in 1830, and in 1836 to the Provincial council of the Province of Liège and in 1840 as a representative of Liège into the Belgian Chamber of Representatives, and in 1848 was elected vice-president of the chamber and remained in this office until 1852. His decisive character and his talent as a convincing speaker, supported his political influence in the years 1848 and 1849, where he mainly tried to secure Belgium from the influences of the French movement.
