Josimar Higino Pereira (born 19 September 1961), more commonly known as Josimar, is a Brazilian former footballer. Throughout his career, he played as a right-back, mainly with Botafogo de Futebol e Regatas and the Brazil national team. In his prime, he was named the best right-back in the world by FIFA. He is currently assistant coach at Botafogo. Career Josimar was born in Rio de Janeiro. Josimar won 16 caps with the Brazil national team, from June 1986 to November 1989. He played three times during the 1986 Football World Cup after an injury to first choice right back Édson. His two goals for Brazil were memorable, and were scored in his first two international matches, in that tournament. Josimar's son, Josimar Jr., played for Botafogo youth teams. Josimar Mosquera Angulo (born 12 October 1982) is a Colombian football defender who currently plays for Argentine club J.J. de Urquiza. Career Mosquera started his career in Argentine football with Godoy Cruz de Mendoza of the Argentine 2nd Division. In 2005, he was part of the team that won the Apertura 2005 tournament, and at the end of the 2005-2006 season Godoy Cruz were promoted to the Primera Division for the first time in their history. In 2006 Mosquera was signed by Estudiantes de La Plata, and in his first season with the club they won the Apertura 2006 title, but Mosquera watched from the sidelines as he did not play any first team games. During the Clausura 2007 Mosquera made the breakthrough into the first team and scored his only goal for the club in a 2-0 win over Club Atlético Banfield. Josimar Rosado da Silva Tavares (18 August 1986 – 28 November 2016), simply known as Josimar, was a Brazilian footballer who last played for Chapecoense as a defensive midfielder. Josimar was one of the victims when LaMia Airlines Flight 2933 crashed on 28 November 2016. Club career Born in Pelotas, Rio Grande do Sul, Josimar joined Internacional's youth setup in 2003 at the age of 16. On 21 January 2007 he made his first team debut, coming on as a late substitute in a 0–0 Campeonato Gaúcho home draw against Novo Hamburgo.
