Josie (Blink-182 Song)
"Josie" (sometimes subtitled "Everything's Gonna Be Fine") is a song by American rock band Blink-182, released on November 17, 1998, as the fourth single from the group's second studio album, '' Dude Ranch'' (1997). "Josie" was primarily written by bassist Mark Hoppus about an idealized girlfriend, and the song includes references to the bands Unwritten Law and Dance Hall Crashers, bands the trio toured with between 1995 and 1996. The single, which was remixed by Tom Lord-Alge, reached number 31 in Australia. The single remix of "Josie" was later featured on the band's ''Greatest Hits''. The music video for "Josie" stars Alyssa Milano as the object of Hoppus' affection in a high school setting. The original video was to depict the band performing on a sinking cruise liner, but the video was scrapped after filming. It is the band's last single to feature drummer Scott Raynor. Background "Josie" is an ode to the perfect relationship companion. Bassist Mark Hoppus wrote the song im ...

Josie (Donovan Song)
"Josie" is a song written and recorded by British singer-songwriter Donovan. Background The "Josie" single was backed with a cover of "The Little Tin Soldier" by Shawn Phillips and released in the United Kingdom on 18 February 1966 through Pye Records (Pye 7N 17067). Like Hickory Records in the United States, it was clear by early 1966 that Pye Records retained the rights to the tracks Donovan recorded while recording at Pye. Unlike Hickory Records, however, Pye retained the right to release future Donovan albums and singles as stipulated by Donovan's original contract. Meanwhile, any new recordings from Donovan were legally barred from release. As Hickory Records did with "You're Gonna Need Somebody on Your Bond" and "To Try for the Sun" in the United States, Pye Records took an album track and released it as a single without Donovan's consent. "Josie" was originally released on Donovan's debut album ''What's Bin Did and What's Bin Hid'' and was viewed as a single that cou ...

Josie (Steely Dan Song)
"Josie" is a song written by Walter Becker and Donald Fagen and first released by Steely Dan on their 1977 album '' Aja''. It was also released as the third single from the album and performed modestly well, reaching #26 on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100 and #44 on the Easy Listening chart that year. It has appeared on several Steely Dan live and compilation albums. Lyrics and music Becker and Fagen wrote an early version of "Josie" well before the recordings for ''Aja'' took place. While most of the songs on the album fuse jazz with rock, AllMusic critic Stewart Mason describes "Josie" as the album's "most conventional rocker." Nonetheless "Josie" incorporates many jazz chords. Don Breithaupt sees an influence from the Delta blues, particularly in the "stark open fifths and lyric-driven rhythm," but Breithaupt also notes that it incorporates "exotic open chords derived from the parallel Phrygian scale." ''Rolling Stone'' critic Michael Duffy describes it as having "tight ...
