Joshua Smits
Joshua Gerardus Petrus Wilhelmus Smits (born 6 November 1992) is a Dutch professional footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for Willem II. Smits started his football career at Astrantia and De Treffers, before moving to NEC in 2011. In the 2014–15 season, he made his debut in professional football for NEC, a club with which he reached promotion to the Eredivisie. After a two-year stint with Almere City, he joined Norwegian club Bodø/Glimt, winning the league title in his first season at the club. Career Early career Smits started in the youth department of Astrantia SV in Middelaar as a five-year-old, first as an outfielder and from the age of 10 as a goalkeeper. He had already received goalkeeping practice at De Treffers, before he made the definitive move to the club's youth department at age 11. Nijmegen (;; Spanish and it, Nimega. Richard Arends (born 5 September 1990) is a Dutch footballer who last played as a goalkeeper for Kozakken Boys in the Dutch Tweede Divisie. The 2016–17 Eredivisie season was the 61st season of the top-tier Dutch League Eredivisie since its establishment in 1956. The fixtures for this season were announced on 14 June 2016. Eerste Divisie
The Eerste Divisie (, en, First Division) is the second-highest tier of football in the Netherlands. It is linked with the top-level Eredivisie and with the third-level Tweede Divisie via promotion/relegation systems. It is also known as the Keuken Kampioen Divisie due to sponsorship, while previously it was known as Jupiler League for the same reason. History The Eerste Divisie consists of 20 clubs, who play each other in a double round-robin league, with each club playing the other club home and away. Each club plays every other club once in the first half of the season before the league takes a winter break around the Christmas and New Year's holiday season. The second half of the season sees the same fixtures as the first half, with the stadiums changed, although the two halves are not played in the same order.
