Joshua Roy
Joshua Roy (born August 6, 2003) is a Canadian professional ice hockey right winger who plays for the Laval Rocket in the American Hockey League (AHL) as a prospect of the Montreal Canadiens in the National Hockey League (NHL). A highly touted prospect on entering the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League, early struggles led to a decline in his reputation, and he was taken by the Canadiens in the fifth round (150th overall) of the 2021 NHL Entry Draft. He became a star in the QMJHL following a trade to the Sherbrooke Phoenix, winning the Jean Béliveau Trophy for the 2021–22 season. Competing internationally as part of the Canadian national junior team, Roy won gold medals at the 2022 and 2023 World Junior Championships. Saint-Georges, Quebec
Saint-Georges () is a city in the province of Quebec. It is the seat of Beauce-Sartigan Regional County Municipality, part of the Chaudière-Appalaches region. The population was 32,935 as of the Canada 2021 Census. Route 173 runs through Saint-Georges Est (where it is known as Boulevard Lacroix) and heads south to the border with Maine, USA. The name of the parish and of the city, Saint-Georges, is in homage to George Pozer, the fourth seigneur of Aubert-Gallion. 2023 IIHF World Junior Championship
The 2023 World Junior Ice Hockey Championships are the 47th edition of the IIHF World Junior Championship, scheduled to be held from December 26, 2022 through January 5, 2023 in Halifax, Nova Scotia and Moncton, New Brunswick. They were originally scheduled to be hosted by Novosibirsk and Omsk, Russia, but Russia's hosting rights were pulled in February 2022 in condemnation of the country's invasion of Ukraine. Halifax and Moncton were announced as the new hosts in May 2022, marking the third consecutive World Junior Championships to be hosted by Canada (the last two, both impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, have been principally hosted by Edmonton, Alberta), and the second to be hosted by Halifax (which co-hosted the 2003 tournament with Sydney, Nova Scotia). CHSJ-FM is a Canadian radio station broadcasting at 94.1 FM in Saint John, New Brunswick. The station plays a country format under the ''Country 94'' branding. CHSJ is owned by Acadia Broadcasting, which also owns sister station CHWV-FM. History Originally known as CFBO, CHSJ's first broadcast was at 890 AM in March 1928, under the ownership of C.A. NHL Central Scouting Bureau
The NHL Central Scouting Services (CSS) is a department within the National Hockey League that ranks prospects for the NHL Entry Draft at specific times during the hockey season. Players are ranked based on how well they will translate to the professional game in the National Hockey League. It was founded by hockey executive Jack Button in 1975 to establish a centralized database of NHL prospects. Button served as the director until 1979. Its current director is Dan Marr. The Department consists of staff at the NHL Offices in Toronto, along with eight full-time scouts, and fifteen part-time scouts throughout North America. 2020–21 QMJHL Season
The 2020–21 QMJHL season was the 52nd season of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL). The regular season began on October 2, 2020, and ended on April 18, 2021. The playoffs began on April 23 and ended on June 5 with the Victoriaville Tigres winning the President's Cup as the QMJHL champion. Traditionally, the champion would have earned a berth in the 2021 Memorial Cup, which was to be hosted by the Ontario Hockey League from June 17 to 27, 2021, however, the Memorial Cup was cancelled for the second season in a row due to the restrictions during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. The QMJHL was the only Canadian Hockey League member to award a playoff champion in 2021 as the Ontario Hockey League completely cancelled its season and the Western Hockey League only had small regional tournaments. Jonathan Huberdeau
Jonathan Huberdeau (born June 4, 1993) is a Canadian professional ice hockey winger and an alternate captain for the Calgary Flames of the National Hockey League (NHL). Huberdeau was selected third overall by the Florida Panthers in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft and made his NHL debut with the team in 2013. Playing career Junior Huberdeau played Midget AAA hockey with the Ste. Eustache Vikings of the Quebec Midget League. He led the league in scoring during the 2008–09 season.
