Joshua Josephson
Joshua Frey Josephson (1815 – 26 January 1892) was a judge and politician in colonial New South Wales, Solicitor-General of New South Wales 1868 to 1869. Josephson was born in Hamburg, Germany, the son of Jacob Josephson and his wife Emma Wilson, a widow ''née'' Moss. Josephson arrived in New South Wales in 1820. Josephson was elected a member for Braidwood in the New South Wales Legislative Assembly on 13 December 1864, a seat he held until 3 September 1869. He was appointed Solicitor-General of New South Wales from 27 October 1868 to 9 September 1869 in the 2nd government of John Robertson. He then became a District Court Judge. Solicitor General for New South Wales, known informally as the Solicitor General, is one of the Law Officers of the Crown, and the deputy of the Attorney General. They can exercise the powers of the Attorney General in the Attorney General's absence. The Solicitor General acts alongside the Crown Advocate, and Crown Solicitor, and serves as one of the legal and constitutional advisers of the Crown and its government in the Australian state of New South Wales. The Solicitor General is addressed in court as "Mr Solicitor" or "Ms Solicitor". Julian Salomons
Sir Julian Emanuel Salomons (formerly Solomons) (4 November 1835 – 6 April 1909) was a barrister, royal commissioner, Solicitor General, Chief Justice and member of parliament. He was the only Chief Justice of New South Wales to be appointed and resign before he was ever sworn into office. Salomons was said to be short of stature and somewhat handicapped by defective eyesight. However, he had great industry, great powers of analysis, a keen intellect and unbounded energy and pertinacity. His wit and readiness were proverbial, and he was afraid of no judge. Early years Salomons was born Julian Emanuel Solomons on 4 November 1835 at Edgbaston, Warwickshire in England, the only son of Emanuel Solomons, a merchant in Birmingham. Robert Isaacs
Robert McIntosh Isaacs (26 September 1815 – 26 March 1876) was an Australian politician. Robert M. Isaacs was born at Tortola in the British Virgin Islands, the son of Robert Glover Isaacs and Ann (''née'' Frett). He was educated in England and called to the bar in 1839. On 27 July 1841, he married Barberina Rogers Harrison, with whom he had six children. From about 1846, Isaacs practiced as a barrister on the island of Antigua in the West Indies, during which time he was a member of the Legislature.
