Joseph Warren Ray (May 25, 1849 – September 15, 1928) was a Republican member of the U.S. House of Representatives from Pennsylvania. Joseph W. Ray was born near Nineveh, Pennsylvania. He attended the common schools and was graduated from Waynesburg College in Waynesburg, Pennsylvania, in 1874. He studied law, was admitted to the bar in 1876 and commenced practice in Waynesburg. Ray was elected as a Republican to the Fifty-first Congress. He was an unsuccessful candidate for renomination in 1890. Joseph William "Joie" Ray (April 13, 1894 – May 13, 1978) was an American track and field athlete and member of the United States National Track and Field Hall of Fame. He held world records for the and distances. He represented the United States in the three Olympic Games held the 1920s, winning a bronze medal for the 3000 m team race in 1924. Biography Ray was born in Kankakee, Illinois, on April 13, 1894. Early in his career, the and runner—considered short and stocky—competed for the Illinois Athletic Club. Ray was nicknamed "The Kankakee Kid", after his hometown, and "Chesty" or "Chesty Joie" after a newspaper, early in his career, called him "a chesty little guy with a great heart". Joseph Reynolds "Joie" Ray Jr. (September 29, 1923 – April 13, 2007) was an American open-wheel and stock-car racer. Ray was born in Louisville, Kentucky. In 1947, Ray was the first African American licensed by the American Automobile Association. Ray raced primarily in the Midwest and raced in AAA, USAC, CSRA and other organizations, but despite many sources to the contrary, was not the first African-American to race in NASCAR's top series. Nero (stylised as NERO) are a British electronic music trio composed of members Dan Stephens, Joe Ray and Alana Watson. On 12 August 2011, they released their debut studio album, ''Welcome Reality'', which reached number one in the UK Albums Chart. In August 2012, " Promises" received a Gold certification in the United States. On 10 February 2013, Nero won a Grammy Award for their collaborative remix of "Promises" with Skrillex.
