Sir Joseph Jordan (–1685) was a naval officer and admiral. From a Thames shipowning family, he is initially recorded as importing tobacco from Nevis and Barbados aboard the ''Amity''.C. S. Joe Jordan
Joseph Jordan (born 15 December 1951) is a Scottish football player, coach and manager. He is currently a first-team coach at AFC Bournemouth. A former striker, he played for Leeds United, Manchester United, and Milan, among others at club level, as well making 52 appearances and scoring 11 goals for Scotland. As a player, he gained a fearsome 'Jaws' persona due to having lost two front teeth early in his career. The persona aside, he became known as a strong, fearless and committed player, with skill to match, and good aerial abilities. He was part of the successful Leeds United team of the 1970s, winning the 1973–74 Football League First Division title. Cup success was elusive however, being a losing finalist with Leeds in the 1973 European Cup Winners' Cup Final and 1975 European Cup Final, and the 1979 FA Cup Final with Manchester United. Joseph Louis Jordan, (born November 19, 1958) is a Canadian politician. Jordan was a member of the Liberal Party of Canada in the House of Commons of Canada, representing the riding of Leeds—Grenville from 1997 to 2004. Jordan is a former businessman and university lecturer. He was parliamentary secretary to the Prime Minister, and parliamentary secretary to the president of the Treasury Board with special emphasis on regulatory reform. He lost his seat in the 2004 election to Conservative candidate Gord Brown. Joseph Taylor Jordan (February 11, 1882 – September 11, 1971) was an American pianist, composer, real estate investor, and music publisher. Early life and education Jordan was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, grew up in St. Louis, Missouri, and received musical training at the Lincoln Institute (now Lincoln University) in Jefferson City, Missouri. Career In 1900, Jordan performed as fiddler and percussionist with the Taborian Band of St. Louis. He also appeared with Tom Turpin, Sam Patterson, and Louis Chauvin in a singing four piano act. In 1902, he went to New York City to collaborate with Ernest Hogan, known in show business as "The Unbleached American". At the beginning of the 20th century, much of the entertainment industry was founded upon the exploitation of ethnic stereotypes. Amos Azariah Jordan (February 11, 1922 – June 7, 2018) was an American brigadier general in the United States Army and senior fellow at the Wheatley Institution of Brigham Young University. He was formerly the CEO of the Center for Strategic and International Studies as well as a professor at the United States Military Academy. Biography He was born in Idaho and was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and resided in Bountiful, Utah. He died at age 96 on June 7, 2018. Jordan received his bachelor's degree from the United States Military Academy (West Point), graduating in the class of 1946. Joseph Jordan, FRCS, (3 March 1787 – 31 March 1873) was an English surgeon known primarily for his involvement in developing medical education outside its then traditional base of London. He established a medical school in Manchester and was an honorary surgeon of the Manchester Royal Infirmary, as well as a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England. Early life Joseph Jordan was descended from Dutch immigrants who had emigrated to England in the 14th century. His grandfather was William Jordan, a printer of linen and cotton who had established himself in Manchester in 1745 and whose son, also called William, had six children from his marriage to Mary Moors. Joseph was born on 3 March 1787 as the youngest of the four sons. Jordan was a diligent but wayward child at school and was expelled when he damaged its clock while investigating the mechanism.
