The son of Joseph Hoare, from Cardiff, Wales, Hoare studied at Jesus College from 1727 (when he was 18), obtaining his BA in 1730 and his MA in 1733. He was a Prebendary of Westminster Abbey. He was appointed Principal in 1768. During his time as Principal, he donated £200 towards restoration of the college's Old Quadrangle. In 1798, he also subscribed £100 for the "prosecution of the rench Revolutionarywar" and £21 for muskets and necessaries for the University corps. picture info	Joseph Hoare (bishop Of Victoria) Joseph Charles Hoare (15 November 1851 – 18 September 1906) was the Anglican Bishop of Victoria, Hong Kong from 1898 to 1906. Life and ministry Hoare was born in Ramsgate on 15 November 1851. His father was the Revd Edward Hoare, an honorary canon of Canterbury Cathedral. He was educated at Tonbridge School and Trinity College, Cambridge. Hoare was ordained in 1875 and was a curate at Holy Trinity Church in Tunbridge Wells. After this he was principal of the Church Missionary Society (CMS) training college in Ningbo from 1878 to 1898. Hoare married his first cousin, Alice Julian Patteson on 14 December 1882 at Thorpe-next-Norwich. Alice died in 1883. Hoare's last post was as Bishop of Victoria, Hong Kong and the Warden of St. Paul's College, Hong Kong, to which he was appointed in 1898. Hoare was educated at St Patrick's College, Maynooth and ordained priest on 11 June 1867. He was a curate at Templemichael, County Longford then head teacher at St Mel's College, Longford. 	Joseph Hoare (MP For Kingston Upon Hull) Joseph Hoare (21 March 1814 – 21 January 1886) was a British Conservative Party politician and banker. Early life and family Born in 1814 at Child's Hill House in Hampstead, London, Hoare was the fourth son of Samuel Hoare and Louisa Gurney, daughter of John Gurney and Catherine Barclay. Hoare was educated at Trinity College, Cambridge, before becoming a Partner in Hoare's Bank in Lombard Street, London, the UK's oldest and world's fourth oldest bank, which was founded by his ancestor Richard Hoare. He married Anne Amelia Buxton, daughter of Charles Buxton and Martha Henning, in 1836, but they had no children before her death in 1843. In 1847, he remarried to Rachel Juliana Barclay, daughter of former MP Charles Barclay and Anna Maria Kett. 	Joe Hoare Joseph Henry Hoare (November 1881 – 24 March 1947) was an English professional footballer who played as a full-back for Southampton and Liverpool in the 1900s. Playing career Hoare was born in Southampton and trained as a carpenter and joiner, playing amateur football with Southampton Oxford F.C. He joined Southern League champions Southampton F.C. in 1902 and became understudy to England international George Molyneux. He made his debut on 25 October 1902 in a 2–0 victory over Luton Town but only made three further appearances during the 1902–03 season, at the end of which the "Saints" re-claimed the Southern League championship for the fifth time in seven years. 	Sir Joseph Hoare, 1st Baronet Sir Joseph Hoare, 1st Baronet (25 December 1707 – 24 December 1801) was an Anglo-Irish politician. Hoare was the son of Edward Hoare, the Member of Parliament for Cork, and Grace Burton. His family had settled in Ireland during the early part of the seventeenth century and became prosperous merchants and bankers, who founded Hoare's Bank. Hoare was educated in law and practised as a barrister in Ireland. He was elected to the Irish House of Commons as the MP for Askeaton in 1761. He held the office for an unusually long period of time, sitting until 1800, when the seat was disenfranchised following the Acts of Union 1800 when the Parliament of Ireland was dissolved. He was created a baronet, of Annabella in the Baronetage of Ireland on 10 December 1784. He passionately opposed the union between the Kingdom of Ireland and the Kingdom of Great Britain and spoke at length against it in the House of Commons, despite being ninety years old at the time.
