Joseph Fern
Joseph James Fern (August 25, 1872 – February 20, 1920) was the first Mayor of Honolulu from 1909 to 1915 and again from 1917 to 1920. During and after his tenure, Fern became one of the most beloved political figures in the Territory of Hawaii. He was one of the first members of the Hawai'i Democratic Party. Early years Fern was born on the Big Island of Hawaii to James Fern and Kaipua Kaipo Luahoomae on August 25, 1872. In 1885, Fern worked in the town of Kohala at the Union Mill Plantation. In 1892, he moved to the island of Oahu to work at the Hawaiian Tramways Company, driving trolleys and streetcars through downtown Honolulu. In 1894, Fern traded jobs to work as a ship's master at the Wilder Steamship Company. The Big Five ( haw, Nā Hui Nui Elima) was the name given to a group of what started as sugarcane processing corporations that wielded considerable political power in the Territory of Hawaii during the early 20th century and leaned heavily towards the Hawaii Republican Party. The Big Five were Castle & Cooke, Alexander & Baldwin, C. Brewer & Co., American Factors (now Amfac), and Theo H. Davies & Co. Find a Grave is a website that allows the public to search and add to an online database of cemetery records. It is owned by Ancestry.com. Its stated mission is "to help people from all over the world work together to find, record and present final disposition information as a virtual cemetery experience." Volunteers can create memorials, upload photos of grave markers or deceased persons, transcribe photos of headstones, and more. , the site claimed more than 210 million memorials. Kalihi
Kalihi is a neighborhood of Honolulu on the island of Oʻahu in Hawaiʻi, United States. Split by the Likelike Highway (Route 63), it is flanked by downtown Honolulu to the east and Mapunapuna, Moanalua and Salt Lake to the west. Kalihi is the name of the '' ahupuaʻa'' (ancient land division) between Kahauiki and Kapālama in the Kona (now Honolulu) district of O'ahu. The ahupua'a consists of Kalihi Uka, Kalihi Waena and Kalihi Kai. Historically, Kalihi Kai was the site of the former Leprosy Receiving Station, where those suspected of leprosy were examined prior to treatment or being sent to Kalaupapa on the island of Molokaʻi. United States Army Air Corps

ʻIolani Palace
The Iolani Palace ( haw, Hale Aliʻi ʻIolani) was the royal residence of the rulers of the Kingdom of Hawaii beginning with Kamehameha III under the Kamehameha Dynasty (1845) and ending with Queen Liliʻuokalani (1893) under the Kalākaua Dynasty, founded by her brother, King David Kalākaua. Charles Henry Rose
Charles Henry Rose (November 4, 1873 – January 15, 1948) was Sheriff of the Honolulu Police Department (modern equivalent to Chief of Police). Early life Charles Henry Rose was born on November 4, 1873, in Honolulu, Hawaii to Charles Henry Rose and Mary A. Sylva. He attended Saint Louis School. In 1889 Rose began work at Wilder Steamship Company as an office boy and moved up to passenger agent. He married Rosie M. Senna in 1899. Police In 1907 Rose was appointed by Sheriff Curtis P. Iaukea as Chief Clerk of the Honolulu Police Department. He was elected Deputy Sheriff in 1908 for two terms. Rose became Sheriff of Honolulu in 1914, appointed by Sheriff William P. John Lane (Honolulu)
John Awena-ika-lani-keahi-o-ka-lua-o-Pele Carey Lane, (July 22, 1872 – February 8, 1958) was Mayor of Honolulu from 1915 to 1917. Early years Born at Makao, Oʻahu, Lane was educated at Hauula School and St. Louis College. He held various jobs as a clerk, and from 1893 to 1900 farmed near Honolulu. John Lane was one of 12 children born of William Carey Lane (1821–1895), an Irish sea captain, and Mary Kukeakalani Kahooilimoku, a Koolau chiefess. Born in County Cork, Ireland, his father was said to be a descendant of Irish kings. Lane's grandfather, a staunch Catholic, had forfeited his lands and moved to New York, taking his son William with him.
