Joseph Christopher Day (born May 11, 1968) is an American retired ice hockey center, most notably for the Springfield Indians of the American Hockey League and the Las Vegas Thunder of the International Hockey League. Joseph David Day (born 13 August 1990) is an English professional footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for club Newport County. Career Rushden & Diamonds Day began his career with Crystal Palace before joining Rushden & Diamonds in 2007. After spending time out on loan at Harrow Borough Day established himself in the Rushden & Diamonds first team. Peterborough United Day joined Peterborough United in April 2011. He spent most of the 2011–12 season on loan at Alfreton Town. He made his Football League debut for Peterborough United on 18 January 2014 in a 3–0 win against Tranmere Rovers. Joseph Day (inventor)
Joseph Day (1855 – 1946) is a little-known English engineer who developed the extremely widely used crankcase-compression two-stroke petrol engine, as used for small engines from lawnmowers to mopeds and small motorcycles. He trained as an engineer at the Crystal Palace School of Engineering at Crystal Palace in London, began work at Stothert & Pitt in Bath, and in 1889 designed the crankcase-compression two-stroke engine as it is widely known today (in contrast to the two-stroke engine designed by Dugald Clerk), the Valve-less Two-Stroke Engine. In 1878 he started his own business, an iron foundry making cranes, mortar mills and compressors amongst other things.
