Joe Clark (footballer, Born 1890)
Joseph Walter Clark (15 February 1890 – 1960) was an English professional footballer who played as an outside forward for Cardiff City, Southampton and Rochdale in the 1920s. Football career Clark was born in Willington Quay on Tyneside and played his early football with Wallsend Park Villa and Hebburn Argyle. In May 1913 he joined Welsh club, Cardiff City, remaining on their books until after the First World War. In 1921 he was part of the Cardiff City side which reached the semi-finals of the FA Cup, going out to Wolverhampton Wanderers in a replay. During the cup run, Cardiff (then in the Second Division) defeated First Division sides Sunderland and Chelsea. Clark then spent a season in the Welsh section of the Southern League with Aberaman Athletic. In May 1922, Southampton were looking for an outside left to replace Fred Foxall, who had left the previous March. Joseph Lewis Clark (January 15, 1949 – May 2, 2006) was an American murderer executed by the State of Ohio. He was the 21st person executed by Ohio since the state resumed executions in 1999. Clark was sentenced to death on November 28, 1984, for the murder of 22-year-old David Manning during a gas station hold-up in Toledo, though he also confessed to the separate murder of a convenience store employee. Details of Clark's crime When Clark entered a Toledo gas station at approximately 9:00 p.m. on January 13, 1984, he had his .32 caliber revolver drawn. He demanded money, and the attendant, David A. Joe Clark (September 9, 1941 – March 30, 2020) was a Canadian-born American aerospace pioneer. He co-founded Horizon Air in 1981. He founded an early dealership for the Learjet, one of the first private business jets, in the 1960s. Later, in the 1990s, he co-founded a company, Aviation Partners, to design and sell winglets which enhanced performance of airplane wings at their tips, reducing drag. It has been estimated that the technology developed, applied to Boeing 737s and other planes, has saved more than 10 billion gallons of fuel, saving money, extending range, and avoiding carbon emissions. Joseph Samuel Clark (June 7, 1871 – November 3, 1944) was an academic administrator who spent most of his career in Louisiana. He was the head of Baton Rouge College and president of Southern University and A&M College, both Historically black colleges and universities, historically black colleges, where he served in total from 1901 to 1938. During the years from 1914 to 1938 he led the development of Southern, designated as a land grant college in 1890 and moved to the Baton Rouge area in 1914. The sport of field lacrosse was played at the 1904 Summer Olympics, which marked the first time that lacrosse had been featured at the Olympic Games. Three teams participated — two from Canada and one from the United States. One of the Canadian teams consisted entirely of Mohawk nation players.
