Joseph A. Frost
Joseph A. Frost (October 28, 1837 in Pennsylvania – ?) was an American politician. He was a member of the Wisconsin State Assembly during the 1867 session. Frost moved with his parents to Clyde, Wisconsin in 1849, where he was involved in farming, business and manufacturing. In 1870, he married Jenny Lind Kinzie. The couple had five children. Frost was a member of the Assembly during the 1867 session. He also served as a member of the County Board of Iowa County, Wisconsin. Wisconsin State Assembly
The Wisconsin State Assembly is the lower house of the Wisconsin Legislature. Together with the smaller Wisconsin Senate, the two constitute the legislative branch of the U.S. state of Wisconsin. Representatives are elected for two-year terms, elected during the fall elections. If a vacancy occurs in an Assembly seat between elections, it may be filled only by a special election. The Wisconsin Constitution limits the size of the State Assembly to between 54 and 100 members inclusive. Since 1973, the state has been divided into 99 Assembly districts apportioned amongst the state based on population as determined by the decennial census, for a total of 99 representatives. Clyde is a town in Iowa County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 322 at the 2000 census. The unincorporated community of Clyde is located in the town. The town was named by Seth Champion, a director of the Kewaunee, Green Bay & Western railroad in the 1890s, for his son Clyde. Geography According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 34.6 square miles (89.7 km2), of which, 34.1 square miles (88.4 km2) of it is land and 0.5 square miles (1.3 km2) of it (1.44%) is water. The National Union Party was the temporary name used by the Republican Party and elements of other parties for the national ticket in the 1864 presidential election that was held during the Civil War.
