Josep Ferrer Bujons
Josep Ferrer i Bujons (born in Sant Martí de Maçana, Rubió, 12 May 1959) is a Catalan linguist, author, poet and professor graduate in Catalan Philology. He has written five books, of which the first four are compilations of poems. Ferrer has been corrector and editor of the weekly local newspaper ''La Veu de l'Anoia'' and he also has collaborated in the Anoia edition of Regió 7, another Catalan local newspaper. He has also been professor of Catalan language and literature in some high schools of Secondary education in Comarques Centrals, Central Catalonia. Likewise, Ferrer is a co-founder of the magazine ''Revista d'Igualada'' (2nd period). Ferrer has also published several opinion articles in a local digital newspaper, Anoiadiari.cat. Nowadays, he works as a corrector at the Catalan language edition of ''El Periódico de Catalunya'', the best-selling newspaper in Catalonia. Rubió
Rubió is a rural municipality in the ''comarca'' of Anoia in Catalonia, Spain. Its administrative centre is the village of Rubió, and other villages include Maçana and El Pla de Rubió. As of 2014, the municipality had 228 inhabitants. At it is one of the largest municipalities of the Alta Segarra, and at one time was the most sparsely populated. Overview In 1840, the old municipality of Maçana annexed Rubió to increase its population; the municipal limits remain unchanged from then on. Two theories exist about the origin of the toponym Rubió. One holds that it derives from ''rubeus'' (coppery), possibly alluding to the red colour of the land and the rocks of the mountain on which was built the Castell de Rubió. According to the second, Rubió derives from the Latin ''rufus'' (blond) through the name Rubione, a local landowner in the Roman Empire.
