Josef Monsrud
Josef Monsrud (29 May 1922, in Lunner, Oppland – 12 December 2009) was a Norwegian forester and resistance member during World War II. He hailed from Harestua in Lunner. At the age of twenty he joined the resistance Osvald Group. He went through some initial training and performed sabotage missions in Hadeland before being hired as a guard in the Communist Party of Norway. The party was strictly illegal, and had a secret base in Hemsedal. On 30 October 1942 the guard hut was attacked by German soldiers and Monsrud and fellow resistance fighter Finn Eriksen were captured. Monsrud was incarcerated at Grini from 2 to 24 November, then at Møllergata 19 until February 1943. He went through torture, but survived. Finn Eriksen, who had suffered a gunshot wound, died of the trauma three months later. The Osvald Group later split with the Communist Party, and Monsrud joined Milorg, working for the Secret Intelligence Service with the illegal radio transmitter ''Gullfaks''. Named after ... Lunner
Lunner is a municipality in Viken county, Norway. It is part of the traditional region of Hadeland. The administrative centre of the municipality is the village of Roa. Lunner was established when it was separated from the municipality of Jevnaker on 1 January 1898. From 1 January 2020 the municipality belongs to Viken county, it was Oppland before that. General information Name The municipality (originally the parish) is named after the old ''Lunner'' farm (Old Norse: ''Lunnar''), since the first church was built here. The name is the plural form of "log". (The farm and the church are located on a long hill which was probably compared to a log.) Coat-of-arms The coat-of-arms is from modern times. They were granted on 4 April 1986. The arms show a Lily of the Valley, as a symbol for the forests in the area. The Lily of the Valley is a very common flower in the meadows and forests. Bærumsmarka
Bærumsmarka is a forested recreational area located outside Oslo, Norway. The area constitutes part of Oslomarka and is bordered by Krokskogen and Nordmarka. Maridalen
Maridalen is a valley situated just north of Oslo, Norway, just above the suburb of Kjelsås. Considering that Maridalen is within the Oslo city limits, Maridalen has a very low population density. The valley consists of forests, lakes and agricultural land. Most of the valley is made up of the lake Maridalsvannet, which serves as the primary source of drinking water for 90% of Oslo's population. The only hydroelectric powerplant within the City of Oslo, Hammeren Hydroelectric Power Station is located at Brekke in Maridalen. The valley is a popular recreational area with many hiking trails and cycling tracks for summer usage, and groomed cross-country trails in winter. Both the lake and valley are protected. Kongsberg
Kongsberg () is a historical mining town and municipality in Buskerud, Viken county, Norway. The city is located on the river Numedalslågen at the entrance to the valley of Numedal. Kongsberg has been a centre of silver mining, arms production and forestry for centuries, and is the site of high technology industry including the headquarters of Norway's largest defence contractor Kongsberg Gruppen.
