Jose Nuñez (DJ)
Jose Nuñez is an American electronic and house music producer. He is best known for his works with producers Erick Morillo and Harry Choo Choo Romero on the Subliminal record label. Biography In 1998, he appeared in the US ''Billboard'' Hot Dance Music/Club Play chart twice, first hitting #1 with "In My Life." It peaked at #56 in the UK Singles Chart in September that year. The follow-up "Hold On" peaked at #9 US Dance later that year, and at #44 in the UK chart. Lead vocals on both tracks were by singer Octahvia, sometimes referred to as Octavia or Octah'via, and the songs were officially credited to "Jose Nuñez featuring Octahvia". Jose then started collaborating with Erick Morillo and Harry Romero. The 3 remixed and made many songs under monikers such as Da Mob, The Dronez and Ministers-De-La-Funk. Nunez went back to his solo stuff a few years later. He came back on the scene in 2002 with his latest production named "Air Race", which was based on the song My Own Way by ... My Own Way (song)
"My Own Way" is the fourth single by Duran Duran, originally released as a single on 16 November 1981. The single was designed as a stop-gap release to capitalise on the Top 5 success of the band's previous single, "Girls on Film", but prior to the recording and release of the band's second album ''Rio'' (which was recorded in the early months of 1982). "My Own Way" was another hit, peaking at #14 on the UK Singles Chart. It peaked at #10 in Australia. Despite its success, the single has often been cited by the band as one of their least favourite and is rarely played live. Keyboardist Nick Rhodes has expressed astonishment that "My Own Way" performed better than 1987's " Skin Trade", which ended the band's record of twelve consecutive Top 20 hits in the UK. Club Zanzibar
Club Zanzibar was a dance club that opened in 1979 at 430 Broad Street in Newark, New Jersey. Its presence in Downtown Newark was noted for its influence on house music and garage house genres and scene. Club Zanzibar, along with other gay and straight clubs in the era, was both a straight and LGBT black and Latino nightlife destination. The Jersey Sound DJ Tony Humphries began his residency at the club in 1982 and, along with others, helped "spawn the sometimes raw but always soulful, gospel-infused subgenre" of house music known as the Jersey sound. The club scene also gave rise to the ball culture scene in Newark hotels and nightclubs. New Jersey artists like Jomanda found success on the house music scene. Duran Duran () are an English Rock music, rock band formed in Birmingham in 1978 by singer and bassist Stephen Duffy, keyboardist Nick Rhodes and guitarist/bassist John Taylor (bass guitarist), John Taylor. While she would later have several hits as a featured vocalist for other artists, she is perhaps best known under her own name for the 1986 R&B/dance hit, "2 the Limit."
