Jose Gomez (American Soccer)
Jose Gomez is a retired American soccer midfielder who played professionally in the USL A-League. He was the Associate Head Coach of the Liberty University men's soccer team. Gomez is currently the DI Head Coach at Charleston Southern University. Player Gomez graduated from Lakeland Christian School (Lakeland, Florida), Lakeland Christian School, where he was a part of four high school state championship teams. His team won two titles and finished runner-up twice. He attended Liberty University, playing on the men's soccer team from 1997 to 2000. He was the 2000 Big South Conference Player of the Year A starter for all 67 games of his collegiate career, Gomez finished his days in a Liberty uniform with 77 points, 32 goals and 13 assists. Valrico, Florida
Valrico is a census-designated place (CDP) in Hillsborough County, Florida, United States. The population was 35,545 at the 2010 census, up from 6,582 at the 2000 census. History Before the Civil War, the area was known as Long Pond and consisted of several cotton plantations. It was renamed Valrico, meaning "rich valley" in Spanish, in the 1880s when William G. Tousey, a philosophy professor from Tufts College, purchased property in the area. In 1890, an influx of immigrants arrived, following the construction of the Florida Central and Peninsular Railroad through the area. When the railroad was completed, Tousey began building up the community with retail stores, streets, and a bank. In 1893, Mr. Bryan built a steam mill at Valrico station.
