Josanne Lucas
Josanne Lucille Lucas (born 14 May 1984) is a track and field athlete from Trinidad and Tobago who specialises in the 400 metres hurdles. Born in Carnbee, Trinidad and Tobago, Lucas' first success was a win at the national championships in the 400 metres in 2005, but she focused on hurdling instead. She competed at the 2005 World Championships in Athletics in the 400 m hurdles but failed to progress beyond the heats. Lucas represented Trinidad and Tobago at the 2008 Summer Olympics but again did not pass the heats. She set a new national record of 55.24 seconds in Belém at the Grande Prêmio Brasil Caixa meet in May 2009. She won the bronze in the 400m hurdles at the World Championships for Athletics in Berlin, Germany in 2009. She studied at Auburn University under coach Henry Rolle with Biomedical Sciences as her major. The 200 metres, or 200-meter dash, is a sprint running event. On an outdoor 400 metre racetrack, the race begins on the curve and ends on the home straight, so a combination of techniques is needed to successfully run the race. A slightly shorter race, called the '' stadion'' and run on a straight track, was the first recorded event at the ancient Olympic Games. Henry Rolle is a Bahamian former athlete and Head Coach at Puma MVP International professional running group based in Boca Raton, Florida. MVP International is a branch off club from the MVP Jamaica Group that has coached Elaine Thompson, Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce and Asafa Powell. He coached St. John's College High School in Nassau, Bahamas before going to the States to serve as an assistant coach at Oral Roberts University. Rolle then went on to serve as the assistant Head coach at Auburn University for twenty years. He is now the Puma SE representative for the Caribbean. Rolle has coached 31 Olympians, 13 World Championship Medalists, Seven Commonwealth Games Medalists, 18 NCAA Champions, and 40 SEC Champions.
