Joris Ambroise Bruno Bado, (born May 20, 1991) is a Burkinabé professional basketball player. He currently plays for the Basket Club Montbrison Sports Club of the NM2 in France. Bado is one of Burkina Faso's most prominent basketball figures. The small forward (SF), also known as the three or swingman, is one of the five positions in a regulation basketball game. Small forwards are typically shorter, quicker, and leaner than power forwards and centers but taller, larger, and stronger than either of the guard positions. They are strategic and are often relied upon to score, defend, create open lanes, and rebound for their team. 2013 FIBA Africa Championship
AfroBasket 2013 was the 27th FIBA Africa Championship, played under the rules of FIBA, the world governing body for basketball, and the FIBA Africa thereof. The tournament was hosted by Ivory Coast from August 20 to 31, all games were played at the Palais des Sports de Treichville, Abidjan. Angola defeated Egypt 57–40 in the final to win their eleventh title. Format The sixteen teams were split into four groups. Every team advanced to the knockout stage and participated at the Round of 16. The winners advanced to the quarterfinals to play out the champion. The losers from those quarterfinals played for the places 5–8. The defeated teams from the round of 16 were ranked by their preliminary round results and played placement games for the places 9–16. The Burkina Faso national basketball team is the national basketball team of Burkina Faso, governed by the Fédération Burkinabe de Basketball. Its main accomplishment was the qualification for the 2013 FIBA Africa Championship. History The qualification to the AfroBasket 2013 in Abidjan, Ivory Coast remains Burkina Faso's main accomplishment. Since then, the Burkina Faso "Stallions" have attempted to make a comeback.
