Jorge Tadeo Lozano University
Jorge Tadeo Lozano University is a private university whose main campus is located in Bogotá, Colombia, with satellite campuses in Cartagena, Santa Marta and Chía. Established in 1954, the institution was named after the botanist, scientist and politician Jorge Tadeo Lozano. The university was founded by Joaquín Molano Campuzano, Javier Pulgar Vidal and Jaime Forero Valdés at a time of great political commotion in Colombia. Their aim was to create an environment of peaceful engagement in an academic setting, based on the scientific and altruistic principles that characterized the Royal Botanical Expedition to New Granada of which Jorge Tadeo Lozano was a member, in a team of scientists led by José Celestino Mutis . Daniel Bermúdez
Daniel Bermúdez Samper (born 1950) is a Colombian architect, and Professor at the Faculty of Architecture and Design of the University of the Andes. Daniel was born in 1950 in Bogotá. His father was modern architect Guillermo Bermúdez Umaña and his mother was Graciela Samper Gnecco. He is an alumnus of the University of the Andes where he graduated in Architecture in 1973 Since 1975 he has been a faculty member of the Universidad de Los Andes teaching at the Department of Architecture and Design. He is currently coordinator of the Degree project course (BA), part of the faculty team in charge of thesis projects and a member of the Architecture, City and Education (ACE) research team. Fernando Tamayo Tamayo (13 February 1950 – 13 April 2018) was a Colombian economist and politician. He was raised in Paipa and attended Jorge Tadeo Lozano University. Tamayo later taught at his alma mater and Del Rosario University. He was elected to the Paipa City Council between 1974 and 1980. He then moved to Bogotá, serving as councillor between 1982 and 1994. Tamayo contested his first House of Representatives election that year as a member of the Conservative Party. Her work is influenced by her experiences of life in Colombia and is generally composed of commonplace items such as wooden furniture, clothing, concrete, grass, and rose petals.
