Jorge Ottati (Senior)
Professor Jorge Ottati was born in Montevideo, Uruguay. He is an international sports announcer and commentator, with a professional career of almost 40 years in radio, written press and television. One of his sons is Jorge Ottati (Junior), Jorge Ottati, also a well-known sportscaster. Ottati has a doctorate in Universal History and has held decision-making positions at the Uruguayan State Department of Culture and Education, having a role in educational projects and the organization of sporting events for Uruguayan high school students. He teaches Sports Journalism at the University of Málaga in Spain and is the President of Círculo de Empresarios Hispanos de Florida. He founded and coached the Men's Basketball Uruguayan University National Team. He played college soccer and professional basketball, and participated in 1999 with success in the World Championship of Basketball for Senior players. Jorge Ottati (born in Montevideo, Uruguay) is a television and radio sports announcer who currently works for BeIN Sports. His father is Prof. Jorge Ottati, a renowned sportscaster. He started his broadcasting career in Uruguay at the young age of 16 in CX 4 Radio Capital. He also worked for several radio stations such as CX 32 Radiomundo, CX 30 Radio Nacional, CX 38 SODRE, CX 36 Radio Centenario, CX 28 Radio Imparcial, and CX 12 Radio Oriental. ESPN Deportes Radio was an American Spanish language sports radio network created and produced by Disney-owned ESPN. Programming included call-in talk shows and commentary from hosts about a full range of sporting events, including soccer, American football, baseball and boxing.
