Jordan Harris (ice Hockey)
Jordan Harris (born July 7, 2000) is an American professional ice hockey defenseman for the Montreal Canadiens of the National Hockey League (NHL). The Canadiens selected him in the third round, 71st overall, of the 2018 NHL Entry Draft. Early life Harris was born on July 7, 2000, in Haverhill, Massachusetts, to Ginny and Peter Harris, a nurse and physical therapist. His father played ice hockey for UMass Lowell, and Jordan almost became a goaltender like his father and older brother Elijah, but he "liked being able to skate and play out of the net too much", so he became a defenseman. He attended Haverhill High School for one year before transferring to Kimball Union Academy, a boarding school in New Hampshire. In his three years at Kimball, Harris had 18 goals and 64 assists in 111 games, and he was the team's captain during the 2017–18 season. Northeastern Huskies Men's Ice Hockey
The Northeastern Huskies men's ice hockey team is an NCAA Division I college ice hockey program that represents Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts. The team has competed in Hockey East since 1984 and has won three tournament titles, having previously played in the Eastern College Athletic Conference ( ECAC), where they won one tournament championship. The Huskies currently play home games at the 4,666-seat Matthews Arena, the world's oldest hockey arena still in use. Beanpot (ice Hockey)
The Beanpot is an annual ice hockey tournament among the four major US college hockey schools of the Boston, Massachusetts area, usually held during the first two Mondays in February at TD Garden. The tournament has been held annually since the 1952–53 season and has been held at its current location since 1996. The tournament gives the winner bragging rights over its cross-town rivals, and the quest for this highly sought-after trophy is contested in front of sell-out crowds from all four schools. The Sacred Heart Pioneers are the 32 sports teams (14 men, 18 women) representing Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, Connecticut in intercollegiate athletics. The Pioneers compete in the NCAA Division I and are members of the Northeast Conference (the school's primary conference), Atlantic Hockey, Eastern Intercollegiate Wrestling Association, and New England Women's Hockey Alliance. The Sacred Heart Pioneers men's ice hockey team is a National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I college ice hockey program that represents Sacred Heart University. The Pioneers are a member of Atlantic Hockey. They play at the Webster Bank Arena in Bridgeport, Connecticut. From 1993-2016, the Pioneers home arena was the Milford Ice Pavilion in Milford, Connecticut. History Division III Sacred Heart began sponsoring men's ice hockey as a varsity sport in 1993. Cayden Primeau
Cayden Primeau (born August 11, 1999) is an American professional ice hockey goaltender. He is currently playing for the Laval Rocket in the American Hockey League (AHL) as a prospect to the Montreal Canadiens of the National Hockey League (NHL). He helped Northeastern win their third Hockey East Tournament in 2019 and received the Mike Richter Award as the National Goaltender of the Year the same season. Playing career Primeau was stellar during his brief college career. In his freshman season, he won 19 games and helped Northeastern jump from eighth to second in Hockey East. While the team didn't fare well in the postseason, Primeau was named to the All-Hockey East Rookie Team, First Team and won the conference goaltending title for having the lowest goals against average in league play. In sports, a prospect is any player whose rights are owned by a professional team, but who has yet to surpass a threshold where they achieve rookie status (as defined by their respective league), or is not established with the team yet. Prospects can sometimes be assigned to farm teams, or loaned to lower ranked teams. They may also decide to go back to college to play. United States Hockey League
The United States Hockey League (USHL) is the top junior ice hockey league sanctioned by USA Hockey. The league consists of 16 active teams located in the midwestern United States, for players between the ages of 16 and 21. The USHL is strictly amateur, allowing former players to compete in National Collegiate Athletic Association, NCAA college hockey. The Chicago Steel won the Anderson Cup as the 2020–21 regular season champions and the 2021 Clark Cup, Clark Cup playoff championship; both were their second in franchise history. Operations The USHL is the country's top sanctioned junior hockey league, classified as Tier I.
