Joonas Tamm
Joonas Tamm (born 2 February 1992) is an Estonian professional footballer who plays as a centre-back for Liga I club FCSB and the Estonia national team. Tamm has won the Estonian Footballer of the Year in 2022. Club career Tulevik Tamm started out playing for hometown team Tulevik. He made his debut in the Meistriliiga on 29 March 2008, in a 1–1 home draw against Sillamäe Kalev. Flora In February 2009, Tamm moved to Flora. He scored his first Meistriliiga goal on 9 May 2009, in a 4–0 away victory over Tammeka. In August 2009, Tamm joined Italian club Sampdoria on a season-long loan, where he played for the club's ''Primavera'' side. Tamm returned to Flora in August 2010. He helped the team win the Meistriliiga in 2010. IFK Norrköping On 27 December 2010, Tamm signed a three-year contract with Allsvenskan club IFK Norrköping, with the option to extend the contract for another year. Estonia National Football Team
The Estonia national football team ( et, Eesti jalgpallikoondis) represents Estonia in international football matches and is controlled by the Estonian Football Association, the governing body for football in Estonia. Estonia's home ground is Lilleküla Stadium in Tallinn. Estonia's first match was held against Finland in 1920, being a 6–0 defeat. The team participated in the 1924 Olympic Games tournament, their only participation. In 1940, Estonia was occupied by the Soviet Union and did not regain independence (and the possibility of a national football team) until 1991. Estonia's first FIFA recognised match as an independent nation after the break-up of the Soviet Union, was against Slovenia on 3 June 1992, a 1–1 draw in the Estonian capital city of Tallinn. Allsvenskan (; en, the All-Swedish, also known as Fotbollsallsvenskan, en, the Football All-Swedish) is a Swedish professional league for men's association football clubs. It was founded in 1924 and is the top tier of the Swedish football league system, operating on a system of promotion and relegation with Superettan. Seasons run from late March or early April to the beginning of November, with the 16 clubs all meeting each other twice, resulting in a 30-match season, for a total of 240 matches league-wide. The 2010 season of the Meistriliiga, the first level in the Estonian football system, was the 20th season in the league's history. It started in March and ended in November. Tartu JK Tammeka, commonly known as Tartu Tammeka or simply Tammeka, is a football club, based in Tartu, Estonia, that competes in the Meistriliiga, the top flight of Estonian football. JK Sillamäe Kalev, commonly known as Sillamäe Kalev, or simply as Sillamäe, is a football club, based in Sillamäe, Estonia. Founded in 1957, Sillamäe Kalev was one of the founding members of the Meistriliiga. The club competed in the Meistriliiga, the top flight of Estonian football in 2017, but was declared bankrupt in March 2018. Its football academy continued and took over the name, continuing in the II liiga, 4th level in the Estonian football league system. Meistriliiga
Meistriliiga (, known as the A. Le Coq Premium Liiga for sponsorship reasons) is the highest division of the Estonian Football Association annual football (soccer), football championship. The league was founded in 1992, and was initially semi-professional with amateur clubs allowed to compete. With the help of solidarity mechanisms, the league is fully professional since the 2020 Meistriliiga, 2020 season. As in most countries with low temperatures in winter time, the season starts in March and ends in November. Meistriliiga consists of ten clubs, all teams play each other four times. After each season the bottom team is relegated and the second last team plays a two-legged play-off for a place in the Meistriliiga. In February 2013, A. The Estonian Footballer of the Year ( et, Eesti aasta parim jalgpallur) is an annual award given to the best performing Estonian footballer of the respective year. The award has been presented since 1992. From 1992 to 1994, the winner was chosen by '' Päevaleht'', from 1995 to 2000 by ''Eesti Päevaleht'', and from 2002 to 2003 by Estonian football journalists (EJAK). The Liga I (; ''First League''), also spelled as Liga 1, is a Romanian professional league for men's association football clubs. Currently sponsored by betting company Superbet, it is officially known as the SuperLiga. It is the country's top football competition, being contested by 16 clubs which take part in a promotion and relegation system with the Liga II. The teams play 30 matches each in the regular season, before entering the championship play-offs or the relegation play-outs according to their position in the regular table.
