Jones Falls Trail
Jones Falls Trail (typically abbreviated JFT) is a hiking and bicycling trail in Baltimore, Maryland. It mostly runs along the length of the namesake Jones Falls, a major north–south stream in and north of the city that has long acted as a major transportation corridor for the city. It also incorporates the bike path encircling Druid Hill Reservoir and its namesake park. The Jones Falls Trail forms a segment of the East Coast Greenway, a partially completed network of off-road bicycling routes that runs the length of the East Coast. It is projected to extend from the Baltimore waterfront at the Inner Harbor north to the Mount Washington neighborhood, passing through Cylburn Arboretum and Mount Washington Arboretum. Baltimore Penn Station, formally named Baltimore Pennsylvania Station in full, is the main inter-city passenger rail hub in Baltimore, Maryland. Designed by New York architect Kenneth MacKenzie Murchison (1872–1938), it was constructed in 1911 in the Beaux-Arts style of architecture for the Pennsylvania Railroad. It is located at 1515 N. Maryland Route 129 (MD 129) is a state highway in the U.S. state of Maryland, running north-northwesterly from U.S. Route 40 (US 40) and MD 295 in Baltimore into Baltimore County, ending at Garrison Forest Road east of Reisterstown. The route leaves downtown on the one-way pair of McCulloh Street and Druid Hill Avenue, and then uses the entire length of Park Heights Avenue to the end. Falls Road station is a Baltimore Light Rail station in the southwest corner of Towson, Maryland, located near the Mount Washington neighborhood in the Jones Falls Valley. Mount Washington station is a Baltimore Light Rail station in the Mt. Washington, Baltimore, Mt. Washington neighborhood of Baltimore, Maryland. The station has two side platforms serving two tracks. History The station was built in the location of the Mt. Washington station of the defunct Northern Central Railway. When the current stop opened in 1992, it had only a single track for trains traveling in either direction. A second track was added when the Light Rail's double-tracking project for this station was completed in 2005. MTA buses do not serve the station directly due to narrow streets. Instead, they use a bus terminus, bus loop in Mt. Washington Village along Kelly Avenue, which was constructed in 1949 as a temporary layover for buses following the conversion from streetcars.
