Jonathan Archie Taumateine (born 28 September 1996) is a professional rugby union player who plays as a scrum-half for Super Rugby club Moana Pasifika. Born in New Zealand, he represents Samoa at international level after qualifying on ancestry grounds. Club career Taumateine signed with the Moana Pasifika for the 2022 Super Rugby Pacific season. His position of choice is scrum-half. In the game of rugby union, there are 15 players on each team, comprising eight forwards (wearing jerseys numbered 1–8) and seven backs (numbered 9–15). In addition, there may be up to eight replacement players "on the bench", numbered 16–23.
