Jonathan Shaw (British Army Officer)
Major-General Jonathan David Shaw (born 22 November 1957) is a former British Army officer. Military career Educated at Sedbergh School and Trinity College, Oxford, where he studied PPE, Shaw was commissioned into the Parachute Regiment in 1981. He was a platoon commander with 3rd Battalion, Parachute Regiment during the Falklands War. Having attended Staff College, Camberley between 1989 and 1990, he was appointed Commanding Officer of 2nd Battalion, Parachute Regiment in 1997. After attending the Higher Command and Staff Course at the Joint Services Command and Staff College in 2000, he was made Commander of 12th (Mechanized) Brigade in 2002 and subsequently commanded the Multi-National Brigade (Centre) in Kosovo. Jonathan William Shaw (born 4 May 1980) is an English cricketer. Shaw is a right-handed batsman who bowls both right-arm off break and right-arm medium pace. He was born in Nottingham, Nottinghamshire. Shaw represented the Nottinghamshire Cricket Board in a single List A match against Scotland in the 1st round of the 1999 NatWest Trophy. In 2000, he joined Herefordshire where he made his Minor Counties Championship debut against Dorset and his MCCA Knockout Trophy debut against the Worcestershire Cricket Board. The following year he played his only List A match for the county against the Gloucestershire Cricket Board in the 2nd round of the 2001 Cheltenham & Gloucester Trophy. Jonathan Shaw is a British photographer and educator. Photography Shaw's work has been shown at Leeds Met Gallery, Goethe Institute in Dresden, Germany and Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery. Shaw is a Fellow of the Royal Photographic Society and is a member of the society's 'Multimedia and Narrative Distinction Panel' alongside Andy Golding (University of Westminster) and Daniel Meadows among others. Jonathan Rowland Shaw (born 3 June 1966) is a British Labour Party politician who served as the Member of Parliament for Chatham and Aylesford from 1997 to 2010. He also served in the Government as the Minister for Disabled People from 2008 to 2010. He is currently the CEO of Policy Connect. Early life Shaw was educated at Vinters Boys' School, West Kent College and Bromley College. Parliamentary career A former member of Rochester-upon-Medway City Council, Shaw was first elected to the House of Commons at the 1997 general election; which resulted in a nationwide landslide for the Labour Party. Jonathan Dowling Shaw (born July 4, 1953) is an American tattoo artist and writer. He founded New York City's oldest tattoo shop, Fun City Tattoo, in 1976, before tattooing was legal in the city. Early life Shaw was born in 1953. His father was big band musician and bandleader Artie Shaw, and his mother was the musicians' seventh wife, actress Doris Dowling. He was raised in Los Angeles, and from his own description had a very rough upbringing. His parents' marriage dissolved when he was three years old, and he developed a heroin addiction in his teenage years, occupying his time with varied acts of juvenile delinquency. At age 19, while working at the ''Los Angeles Free Press'', he met the author Charles Bukowski who inspired him to hitchhike from Los Angeles to Rio de Janeiro in 1972.
