Jonathan Sharp
Jonathan Peter Sharp (20 February 1964 – 29 May 2009), better known by the pseudonym Jonny Dollar, was an English record producer and songwriter. Jonathan was born in Westminster, London and his father was the Australian film director, Don Sharp. Dollar is best known for his work on the Bristol collective Massive Attack's first album ''Blue Lines'', on which he co-wrote the single "Unfinished Sympathy". Sharp's pseudonym came about during the recording of ''Blue Lines'', where he was the only person working on the album being regularly paid He co-produced Neneh Cherry's albums '' Raw Like Sushi'', '' Homebrew'', and ''Man''; plus Gabrielle's third album ''Rise''. ''Raw Like Sushi'' is the debut studio album by Swedish musician Neneh Cherry, released 5 June 1989 by Virgin Records. The album includes the commercially successful single "Buffalo Stance". Background An early version of "Buffalo Stance" appeared on the B-side of the 1986 Stock Aitken Waterman-produced Morgan-McVey single, " Looking Good Diving", titled "Looking Good Diving with the Wild Bunch". Eliza Sophie Caird (born 15 April 1988), better known by her stage name Eliza (formerly Eliza Doolittle), is an English singer and songwriter from Westminster, London. After performing her music in live venues around London from the age of 15, Eliza signed to Parlophone in 2008. Her debut album was released on 12 July 2010 and went Platinum in the UK. Natty (born 1983) is a British singer-songwriter, born in California. History Born Alexander Akiloe Philip Modiano in 1983 in San Francisco, California. Natty moved to London, England with his family at the age of one, where he grew up and went to school. His musical eclecticism of today reflects his "melting pot" upbringing, being mixed race and growing up in a multi-cultural cosmopolitan environment. Having started writing songs at an early age, he eventually found himself working in a London recording studio as a tea boy before working his way up to become a sound engineer, working with acts from a variety of genres. "7 Seconds" is a song composed by Youssou N'Dour, Neneh Cherry, Cameron McVey, and Jonathan Sharp. It was released in 1994 as a single performed by N'Dour and Cherry, and achieved success, reaching the number-one position in numerous countries; in France, it stayed at number one for 16 weeks, a record at the time. Portishead () is an English band formed in 1991 in Bristol. The band is named after Portishead, Somerset, eight miles west of Bristol, along the coast.
