Jonathan Robinson (American Politician)
Jonathan Robinson (August 11, 1756November 3, 1819) was an American politician, lawyer, and judge from the state of Vermont who served as chief justice of the Vermont Supreme Court and a United States senator. Early life Robinson was born in Hardwick, Massachusetts on August 11, 1756, a son of Samuel Robinson (1707–1767) and Mercy (Leonard) Robinson (1714–1793). He was raised in Hardwick, and in 1761 he moved with his family to Bennington, in what would later become Vermont but was then governed as part of New Hampshire – the New Hampshire Grants. Robinson's father was an important leader in the New Hampshire Grants, and died while in England attempting to resolve a dispute over whether New Hampshire or New York had the right to grant land and town charters. After moving to Bennington, Robinson was educated locally, then served in the militia during the American Revolution. Jonathan Robinson (Canadian Politician)
Jonathan Robinson (November 18, 1894 – October 11, 1948) was a Canadian lawyer and provincial politician. He was born in Waterloo, Quebec and was the grandson of Asa Belknap Foster. In 1928, he married Florence Walker McMaster, daughter of Andrew Ross McMaster. He studied law at McGill University and was admitted to the Bar of Quebec in 1938. He served as secretary of the Bar of Montreal in 1932 and 1933. Robinson was a member of the Legislative Assembly of Quebec for the Union Nationale for Brome from 1936 until his death in 1948. He was Minister of Mines from 1944 until his death and was the representative of English-speaking Quebecer English-speaking Quebecers, also known as Anglo-Quebecers, English Quebecers, or Anglophone Quebecers (all alternately spelt Quebeckers; in French ''Anglo-Québécois'', ''Québécois Anglophone'') or simply Anglos in a Quebec context, are a ...s in the provincial cabinet. Jonathan Robinson (English Cricketer)
Jonathan David Robinson (born 3 August 1966) is a former English cricketer. Robinson was a left-handed batsman who bowled right-arm medium pace. He was born at Epsom, Surrey. Robinson made his first-class cricket debut for Surrey against the touring Sri Lankans in 1988. He made 30 further first-class appearances for the county, the last of which came against Nottinghamshire in the 1992 County Championship. In his 31 first-class appearances for the county, he scored 898 runs at an average of 23.02, with a high score of 79. This score, which was one of five first-class fifties he made, came against Lancashire in 1991. With the ball, he took 28 wickets at a bowling average of 41.14, with best figures of 3/22. He made his List A debut for Surrey against Nottinghamshire in the 1988 Refuge Assurance League. Jonty Robinson is a South African field hockey player At the 2012 Summer Olympics, he competed for the national team in the tournament. Made his Debut for South Africa in 2009 against Germany in Bloemfontein. He went to school at Fish Hoek Primary School and then Wynberg Boys' High School. He then went onto study at the University of Pretoria. He has played for South African Men's hockey team 115 times and the South Africa Indoor Hockey team 3 times. Participated in numerous international top-level tournaments including the London 2012 Olympic Games, New Delhi World Cup in 2010, Den Haag World Cup in 2014 and Commonwealth Games in Glasgow in 2014.
