Jonathan Parker is an American politician. He is a former Idaho Republican Party Chairman and Executive Director. Early life and education Parker grew up in Spokane, Washington. He attended Joel E Ferris High School. Parker graduated from the University of Idaho with a degree in political science. He then pursued a master's degree in Pastoral Ministries at Rhema Bible College in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Career and personal life Parker was with the Idaho Water Users Association in the early 2000s. He served as Congressman Bill Sali District Director in 2007. Parker was with the Boise office of the Holland and Hart law firm from July 2012 to 2018, Parker served as the Idaho director of government affairs for firm. The Idaho Republican Party (IDGOP) is the Idaho state affiliate of the United States Republican Party, headquartered in Boise. It is currently the dominant party in the state, controlling both of Idaho's U.S. House seats, both U.S. Senate seats, the governorship, and has supermajorities in both houses of the state legislature. Donna Jones (Idaho Politician)
Donna M. Jones (1939–2022) was an American politician. She served as the 20th Idaho state controller from November 7, 2006 to October 15, 2012. Jones previously served twelve years in the Idaho House of Representatives which culminated in her being the first woman selected to chair the House Revenue and Taxation Committee. Jones was the first woman elected to serve as Idaho State Controller. Early life and career Early years Donna M. Jones was born at Brush, Colorado on January 14, 1939. Idaho's 1st congressional district is one of two congressional districts in the U.S. state of Idaho. It comprises the western portion of the state. The 1st district is currently represented by Russ Fulcher, a Republican from Boise, who was first elected in 2018, and re-elected in 2020 and 2022. History From statehood in 1890 to the 1910 election, Idaho was represented by a statewide at-large seat. Following the 1910 census, Idaho gained a second House seat; it was first contested in 1912. However, through the 1916 election, both seats were statewide at-large seats. The first election in Idaho with two congressional districts was in 1918. Walt Minnick
Walter Clifford Minnick (born September 20, 1942) is an American politician who served as a U.S. Representative for , serving from 2009 until 2011. He is a member of the Democratic Party. The district is in the western part of the state, and includes roughly one-fourth of Boise and most of its suburbs, as well as Meridian and Nampa. It also includes the cities of Lewiston, Moscow and Coeur d'Alene. In 2008, Minnick defeated incumbent Bill Sali to win his office, but in 2010 he was defeated by challenger Raúl Labrador in the general election. The 2006 congressional elections in Idaho were held on November 7, 2006, and determined who would represent the state of Idaho in the United States House of Representatives. Idaho has two seats in the House, apportioned according to the 2000 United States census.
