Jonathan Moore (born 31 May 1984) is an English athlete who specialises in the triple jump and long jump events. Competing in the triple jump event in 2001, he won gold at the 2001 World Youth Championships in Athletics, World Youth Championships and silver at 2001 European Athletics Junior Championships, the European Junior Championships. A former holder of the British Junior long jump record, he is the son of Commonwealth Games triple jump medallist Aston Moore. Athletics career Born in Sutton Coldfield, Birmingham, Jonathan Moore began practising triple jump at the age of thirteen. His first medal came at the English Schools' event in 1999 and he won gold at the same event in 2000. Jonathan Moore (born November 3, 1957) is an American former basketball player who is best known for his collegiate career at Furman University between 1976 and 1980. A native of Charleston, South Carolina, Moore finished his career as one of the greatest players in Southern Conference history. During his four-year tenure at Furman, Moore averaged 16.9 points per game, became one of only three players in conference history to be named First Team All-SoCon four times, was a two-time SoCon Basketball tournament MVP and was twice named the Southern Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Year. He scored 2,299 points and grabbed 1,242 rebounds, placing him on an exclusive list of NCAA Division I men's basketball players to achieve both of those milestones. He was educated at Dartmouth College, receiving a bachelor's degree in 1954 and at Harvard University, receiving an MPA in 1957. Jonathan Baker Moore (March 16, 1825February 8, 1889) was an American businessman, politician, and Wisconsin pioneer. He served one term in the Wisconsin State Assembly, representing Grant County, and was a Union Army officer during the American Civil War. Biography Moore was born on March 16, 1825, in Posey County, Indiana. In 1837, he and his family moved to Muscoda, Wisconsin. Moore died of a stroke on February 8, 1889, in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, and is buried in Lancaster, Wisconsin. His entire estate was left to his wife, Christiana. Political career Moore was Constable of Platteville, Wisconsin, from 1849 to 1852 and Clerk of Platteville in 1853. He was elected to the Wisconsin State Assembly in 1860 as a Republican and as Sheriff of Grant County, Wisconsin, in 1861.
