Jonathan McDonald
Jonathan André McDonald Porras (born October 28, 1987 in San Jose) is a Costa Rican professional footballer for Liga FPD club Herediano. Career Club McDonald made his professional debut as a 16-year-old with AD Carmelita, making three appearances in his first season. In 2006, he moved to top Costa Rican side CS Herediano. During his stay with Herediano he appeared in 41 First Division matches, scoring 17 goals. McDonald joined the Vancouver Whitecaps on August 5, 2010. He made his Whitecaps debut as a second-half substitute coming on for striker Cornelius Stewart during a 1-0 victory at NSC Minnesota Stars on August 14, and made his first start for Vancouver on September 11 in 3-0 victory at Crystal Palace Baltimore. On October 19, 2010, the Vancouver Whitecaps released McDonald, along with five fellow players, citing their need to purge certain players in preparation for their upcoming promotion to Major League Soccer. Ecuador National Football Team
The Ecuador national football team ( es, Selección de fútbol de Ecuador) represents Ecuador in men's international football and is controlled by the Ecuadorian Football Federation (FEF). They joined FIFA in 1926 and CONMEBOL a year later. Discarding an invitation to participate in the inaugural FIFA World Cup held in Uruguay, Ecuador did not make their tournament debut until 2002. After finishing above Brazil and Uruguay in the standings, the qualifying campaign marked the emergence of several players, such as Agustín Delgado, Álex Aguinaga, Iván Hurtado, Ulises de la Cruz and Iván Kaviedes, who would set the stage for Ecuador's achievements in the next decade. 2017–18 Liga FPD
The 2017–18 Liga FPD season, also known as Campeonato Banco Popular for sponsorship reasons, is the 97th since its establishment. The tournament is the first since the 2006–07 season to use the Apertura and Clausura names to their short tournaments, marking a departure from the Invierno and Verano tournaments. The Voit Lummo is the official match ball of the tournament. Herediano entered as the defending champions, but lost the title in the Apertura finals to Pérez Zeledón. The 2011–12 Primera División season is the 93rd of Costa Rica's top-flight professional football league. The season was divided into two championships: the Invierno and the Verano. The season began on 31 July 2011. Promotion and relegation Universidad de Costa Rica finished last season in last place in the overall table at the end of last season and were relegated to the Segunda División. Replacing them in the league for this season are the overall champions of last season's Segunda División competition, Belén Siglo XXI. Deportivo Saprissa is a Costa Rican sports club, mostly known for its football team. The club is based in San Juan de Tibás, San José, and play their home games at the Estadio Ricardo Saprissa Aymá. The team's signature colours are purple (burgundy) and white.
