Jonathan Henke
Jonathan Henke (born 1974) was an American political blogger. Currently, he is an internet strategy and communications consultant. Henke, a proponent of the modern American political philosophy of neolibertarianism, began blogging aQuestions and Observations (QandO)with co-contributors Dale Franks and Bruce McQuain in 2003. As part of their website, the three also produced a weekly podcast, which Franks and McQuain continue today along with other QandO contributors. During the 2006 Senate Election campaign, after 11 years of experience in talk radio, Henke served as Netroots Coordinator for George Allen. Shortly afterward, Henke served as the New Media Director for the Republican Communications Office, an office of the Senate Republican caucus under the leadership of United States Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY). Bloggingheads.tv (sometimes abbreviated "bhtv") is a political, world events, philosophy, and science video blog discussion site in which the participants take part in an active back and forth conversation via webcam which is then broadcast online to viewers. The site was started by the journalist and author Robert Wright and the blogger and journalist Mickey Kaus on November 1, 2005. Addison Mitchell McConnell III (born February 20, 1942) is an American politician and retired attorney serving as the senior United States senator from Kentucky and the Senate minority leader since 2021. Currently in his seventh term, McConnell has held the seat since 1985. Neo-libertarianism
Neo-libertarianism is a political and social philosophy that combines "the libertarian's moral commitment to negative liberty with a procedure that selects principles for restricting liberty on the basis of a unanimous agreement in which everyone's particular interests receive a fair hearing." Neo-libertarianism has its roots at least as far back as 1980 when it was first described by James Sterba of the University of Notre Dame. Sterba observed that libertarianism advocates for a government that does no more than protection against force, fraud, theft, enforcement of contracts and other "negative liberties" as contrasted with " positive liberties" by Isaiah Berlin.
