Jonathan Evans (American Football)
Jonathan Blake Evans (born October 10, 1981) is a former American football fullback who was a member of the Virginia Destroyers of the United Football League. He was signed by the Dallas Cowboys as an undrafted free agent in 2005. He played college football at Baylor. Evans has also been a member of the San Diego Chargers, Tennessee Titans, Buffalo Bills, Houston Texans and Washington Redskins. Jonathan Evans (politician)
Jonathan Peter Evans FRSA (born 2 June 1950) is a Welsh lawyer, businessman and former politician. He has been Chairman of the British Insurance Brokers Association since 1 January 2020. After training as a solicitor, he was the Conservative Member of Parliament for Brecon and Radnorshire between 1992 and 1997, and then Member of the European Parliament for Wales between 1999 and 2009. He was the Member of Parliament (MP) for Cardiff North from the 2010 general election until the dissolution of the 55th Parliament on 30 March 2015. Professional career Born in Tredegar, Evans was educated at Lewis School, Pengam, Howardian High School, Cardiff and the Law Society's College of Law in Guildford and London. Jonathan Evans (rugby Union)
Jonathan Evans (born 25 July 1992) is a Welsh rugby union footballer, who play at scrum half for Ebbw Vale RFC. He also played for the Scarlets, Newport Gwent Dragons and Bath. Club career Evans played his junior rugby and also began his senior career at Bargoed RFC, he had also been a member of the Newport Gwent Dragons academy. Before playing for the Dragons he had played for Welsh Premier Division sides Pontypool RFC and Newport RFC. Originally an outside half, Evans move to scrum half at U16 level. Evans made his professional debut for the Newport Gwent Dragons in a Pro12 match against the Ospreys on 7 May 2010, he was at the time the youngest Dragons player ever at 17. Jonathan Douglas Evans, Baron Evans of Weardale, (born 1958) is a British life peer who formerly served as the Director General of the British Security Service, the United Kingdom's domestic security and counter-intelligence service. He took over the role on the retirement of his predecessor Dame Eliza Manningham-Buller on 21 April 2007. Evans was succeeded by Andrew Parker on 22 April 2013. Jonathan Evans (scholar)
Jonathan Evans is a professor of medieval languages and literature at the University of Georgia. He is known as a Tolkien scholar, including for his 2006 book ''Ents, Elves, and Eriador'' and his contributions to ''The J. R. R. Tolkien Encyclopedia''. Life Jonathan Evans studied English at Asbury College, earning his B.A. in 1976. He gained an M.A., also in English, in 1978 at Indiana University, where he completed his Ph.D. in British Literature in 1984. That year he joined the faculty at the University of Georgia, where he is a professor of medieval languages and literature]. Courses he has taught include early English, medieval languages and literature, and both environmental and fantasy literature. In addition, he researches and teaches on Tolkien studies, with topics including the languages of Middle-earth. Evans lives with his wife in Athens, Georgia. They have two children.
