Jonathan Cyprien
Johnathan Ken Cyprien (born July 29, 1990) is a former American football strong safety. He played college football at FIU and was drafted by the Jacksonville Jaguars in the second round of the 2013 NFL Draft. Cyprien has also played for the Tennessee Titans, Philadelphia Eagles, Atlanta Falcons, and San Francisco 49ers. Early life and college career Cyprien attended North Miami Beach High School in North Miami Beach, Florida. He served as team captain as a senior and was also named to the ''Miami Herald'' All-Dade and District 12-6A first-team. Cyprien received an athletic scholarship to attend Florida International University, where he played for the FIU Panthers football team from 2009 to 2012. As a true freshman in 2009, he appeared in all 12 games and started seven. Strong Safety
Safety is a position in gridiron football on the defense. The safeties are defensive backs who line up ten to fifteen yards from the line of scrimmage. There are two variations of the position: the free safety and the strong safety. Their duties depend on the defensive scheme. The defensive responsibilities of the safety and cornerback usually involve pass coverage towards the middle and sidelines of the field. The 2013 Senior Bowl was an all-star college football exhibition game featuring players from the 2012 college football season, and prospects for the 2013 Draft of the professional National Football League (NFL). The 2012 NCAA Division I FBS football season was the highest level of college football competition in the United States organized by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). The regular season began on August 30, 2012 and ended on December 8, 2012. The 2010 FIU Panthers football team represented Florida International University during the 2010 NCAA Division I FBS football season. The team was coached by Mario Cristobal and played their homes games at the on-campus FIU Stadium in Miami. On November 27, 2010, the FIU Panthers won a share of their first ever Sun Belt Conference championship and became eligible to compete in a post-season bowl game for the first time in school history.
