Jonathan Barnett (politician)
Jonathan D. Barnett (born 1955) is a businessman and Republican politician from Siloam Springs, Arkansas, who served in the Arkansas House of Representatives from 2009 until he was term-limited in 2015. Barnett represented District 97 from 2009 to 2013, and served as the House Assistant Speaker Pro Tempore. Following redistricting, Barnett represented District 87 for his last term from 2013 to 2015. Siloam Springs is a city in Benton County, Arkansas, United States. The city shares a border on the Arkansas-Oklahoma state line with the city of West Siloam Springs, Oklahoma, which is within the Cherokee Nation territory. The town was founded in 1882 and was characterized by the purported healing powers of the spring water feeding Sager Creek and trading with nearby Native American tribes. John Brown University (JBU) was founded in 1919 as a private, interdenominational, Christian liberal arts college in the city.
