2007–08 Argentine Primera División
The Apertura 2007 saw much success for the smaller teams in Argentine football. The eventual champions Lanús won the title for the first time in their history, the first maiden champions since Argentinos Juniors in 1984. Second place went to Tigre, a club playing their first season in the Argentine Primera since 1980 and making their best finish ever in the top flight. Third place went to Banfield, completing an extremely unlikely top three. Another small club, Arsenal won the 2007 Copa Sudamericana, the first major title in their history, making them the first Argentine club other than Boca Juniors to win an international competition since San Lorenzo won the Copa Sudamericana 2002. Another feature of the Apertura was the number of managerial changes, by the end of the Apertura there had been 12 managerial changes. The Clausura 2008 was won by River Plate, their first title since 2004. For the first time the 380 games of the season were broadcast live on television ...

Bicycle Kick
In association football, a bicycle kick, also known as an overhead kick, scissors kick, is an acrobatic strike where a player kicks an airborne ball rearward in midair. It is achieved by throwing the body backward up into the air and, before descending to the ground, making a shearing movement with the lower limbs to get the ball-striking leg in front of the other. In most languages, the manoeuvre is named after either the cycling motion or the scissor motion that it resembles. Its complexity, and uncommon performance in competitive football matches, makes it one of association football's most celebrated skills. Bicycle kicks can be used defensively to clear away the ball from the goalmouth or offensively to strike at the opponent's goal in an attempt to score. The bicycle kick is an advanced football skill that is dangerous for inexperienced players. Its successful performance has been limited largely to the most experienced and athletic players in football history. Labo ...

A total of 20 teams competed in the season, which started on 21 August 2009 and ended on 23 May 2010. Changes from 2008–09 The major changes for this season apply to international qualification. For the 2010 Copa Libertadores, an aggregate table of the two tournaments held in 2009 (2009 Clausura and 2009 Apertura) will be taken into account, instead of an average of the past three tournaments. For the 2010 Copa Sudamericana, River Plate and Boca Juniors will no longer be invited without merit. Their open berths will be up for qualification to any team, including themselves. On 21 August, the Argentine Football Association revoked the television broadcasting contract with TyC in the hopes of increasing revenue to help the financially struggling clubs. On 18 August, the AFA and the Government of Argentina struck a deal to broadcast the season for free on non-cable chann ...

Meniscus (anatomy)
A meniscus is a crescent-shaped fibrocartilaginous anatomical structure that, in contrast to an articular disc, only partly divides a joint cavity.Platzer (2004), p 208 In humans they are present in the knee, wrist, acromioclavicular, sternoclavicular, and temporomandibular joints; in other animals they may be present in other joints. Generally, the term "meniscus" is used to refer to the cartilage of the knee, either to the lateral or medial meniscus. Both are cartilaginous tissues that provide structural integrity to the knee when it undergoes tension and torsion. The menisci are also known as "semi-lunar" cartilages, referring to their half-moon, crescent shape. The term "meniscus" is from the Ancient Greek word (), meaning "crescent". Structure The menisci of the knee are two pads of fibrocartilaginous tissue which serve to disperse friction in the knee joint between the lower leg (tibia) and the thigh (femur). They are concave on the top and flat on the bottom, articula ...
