Jonas Von Essen
Jonas von Essen (born 24 April 1991) is a Swedish, two-time world memory champion. He was a memory sports player from 2012 to 2015. In April 2019 he co-founded memoryOS, an ed-tech startup developing memory improvement software. Biography He was the third place (behind winner Johannes Mallow and runner-up Simon Reinhard) in the 21st World Memory Championships in December 2012. He won the 22nd World Memory Championships in December 2013, and 24th World Memory Championships in December 2014. On 12 March 2016, he recalled correctly 13,208 digits of memorized pi for 4 hours and 40 minutes according to the Pi World Ranking List. This was a Swedish record until 2019, when it was beaten by Henrik Lilliestråle. In the spring of 2018, he participated in TV4's Talang. In his audition, he memorized the first names of all 500 people in the audience, which led to David Batra giving him his golden buzzer and thus sending him on directly to the final. Skövde
Skövde () is a locality and urban centre in Skövde Municipality and Västra Götaland County, in the Västergötland (Western Gothland region) in central Southern Sweden. World Memory Championships
The World Memory Championships is an organized competition of memory sports in which competitors memorize as much information as possible within a given period of time. The championship has taken place annually since 1991, with the exception of 1992. It was originated by Tony Buzan and co founded by Tony Buzan and Ray Keene. It continues to be organized by the World Memory Sports Council (WMSC), which was jointly founded by Tony Buzan and Ray Keene. In 2016, due to a dispute between some players and the WMSC, the International Association of Memory (IAM) was launched. From 2017 onward, both organizations have hosted their own world championships. The current WMSC world champion is Munkhshur Narmandakh of Mongolia. Memory Sport
Memory sport, sometimes referred to as competitive memory or the mind sport of memory, refers to competitions in which participants attempt to memorize then recall different forms of information, under certain guidelines. The sport has been formally developed since 1991 and features national and international championships. The primary worldwide organizational bodies are the IAM (International Association of Memory) and WMSC ( World Memory Sports Council). Johannes Mallow (born June 7, 1981 Brandenburg an der Havel) is a German memory sportsman. He is a two-time winner of the World Memory Championships. He studied successfully Communication Technology at the Otto-von-Guericke University of Magdeburg and finalized his PhD thesis in 2016 at the University of Duisburg-Essen. TV4 (''TV fyra'') is a Swedish free-to-air television network owned by TV4 AB, a subsidiary of the TV4 Media AB. It started broadcasting by satellite in 1990 and, since 1992, on terrestrial television. In 1994, TV4 became the largest channel and remained so for a number of years. David Chandra Batra (born 29 November 1972) is a Swedish stand up comedian and TV actor. He was born in Lund to an Indian Punjabi Khatri father and Swedish mother. Extreme Memory Tournament
Memory League is a memory competition platform originally founded and created by Nelson Dellis and Simon Orton under the name Extreme Memory Tournament (XMT). Memory League differs from traditional memory competitions in the fact that it is entirely digital, has head-to-head matches, and is composed of shorter disciplines. The five disciplines are one-minute memorization of names, words, images, numbers, and cards. The first three world championships took place in San Diego, California in 2014, 2015, and 2016. ''The Brain'' ( lit. "The Most Powerful Brain") is a Chinese scientific reality and talent show originating in Germany. The show's aim is to find people with exceptional brainpower.
