Jonas Tawiah-Dodoo
Jonas Tawiah-Dodoo is a British high performance coach based in Loughborough, Leicestershire. Dodoo is internationally known as the coach of the aspiring runner, Reece Prescod, and several other Olympic and Paralympic medalists such as Greg Rutherford, and Olivia Breen. He was one of the eight coaches who underwent UK Athletics’ Elite Coaching Apprenticeship Programme (ECAP) in the lead-up to the London 2012 Olympics. His wife, Julie Hollman Dodoo, was an Olympic heptathlete, and is a Level 3 Performance Coach and works with England Athletics. Dodoo played many kinds of sports in the school including rugby. He also played rugby in Hartpury College, where he earned his degree and master’s in Coaching Science. High Performance Sport
High performance sport or elite sport is sport at the highest level of competition. In sports administration, "high-performance sport", where the emphasis is on winning prestigious competitions, is distinguished from "mass sport" or "recreational sport", where the emphasis is on attracting the maximum number of participants. Jonathan Joseph (rugby Union)
Jonathan Byron Alexander Joseph (born 21 May 1991) is an English professional rugby union player who plays as a centre for Premiership Rugby club Bath Rugby. He played more than fifty games for England between 2012 and 2020. Early career Joseph began his rugby career at Derby RFC. T44 is a disability sport classification for disability athletics, applying to "Single below knee amputation or an athlete who can walk with moderately reduced function in one or both legs." It includes ISOD A4 and A9 classes. Definition This classification is for disability athletics. This classification is one of several classifications for athletes with ambulant related disabilities. Jonnie Peacock
Jonathan Peacock MBE (born 28 May 1993) is an English sprint runner... An amputee, Peacock won gold at the 2012 Summer Paralympics and 2016 Summer Paralympics, representing Great Britain in the T44 men's 100 metres event. He won a Bronze medal at the 2020 Summer Paralympics. Biography Peacock was born in Cambridge, and grew up in the village of Shepreth. At age 5, he contracted meningitis, resulting in the disease killing the tissues in his right leg, which was then amputated just below the knee. Wanting to play football, he was directed to a Paralympic sports talent day when he asked about disability sport in the hospital that fitted his prosthetic leg. T37 is a disability sport classification for disability athletics in track and jump events. It includes people who have coordination impairments such as hypertonia, ataxia and athetosis. It is the athletics equivalent of the more general CP7 classification. Definition This classification is for disability athletics in track and jump events. This classification is one of seven classifications for athletes with cerebral palsy. Similar classifications are T32, T33, T34, T35, T36, and T38. Bethy Woodward
Bethany "Bethy" Woodward (born 26 December 1992) is a former British Paralympic athlete who competed in sprint events in T37 events. She competed at the highest level of her sport, representing England at the 2010 Commonwealth Games and Great Britain in the IPC Athletic World Championships and the 2012 Summer Paralympics. Woodward ceased to compete in competitive events in 2015, claiming that more able-bodied athletes were being brought into her classification. T38 and CP8 are disability sport classification for disability athletics intended for people with cerebral palsy. It includes people who have coordination impairments such as hypertonia, ataxia and athetosis. Runners in this class may appear to have a slight limp when they are running but otherwise have a stride similar to able-bodied runners. Events for this class include 100 meters, 400 meters, 1,500 meters, and the long jump. Sport This classification is for disability athletics. 2011 IPC Athletics World Championships
The 2011 IPC Athletics World Championships was held in Christchurch, New Zealand from January 21 to 30, 2011. Athletes with a disability competed, and the Championships was a qualifying event for the London 2012 Paralympic Games. Ove1000 athletescompeted, including Oscar Pistorius, the ''Blade Runner'', who competed in class T44 at the 100m, 4 × 100 m relay, 200m, and 400m events. A warm-up meet, with free entry for the audience, was held on Friday January 14. Estimates placed the total visitor spend in the city at around $12 million. Venue The championship was staged in the 20,000-seat Queen Elizabeth II Park stadium that was built in 1973 for the 1974 British Commonwealth Games. Sophia Warner
Sophia Warner (born 23 May 1974) is a Paralympian track and field athlete from England competing mainly in T35 sprint events. In 2012, she qualified for the 2012 Summer Paralympics, selected for the T35 100m and 200m sprint and is also part of the T35–38 women's relay team. In 2012, she became the commercial director of UK Athletics. Warner was born in Dorking in England in 1974. Warner, who has cerebral palsy, began racing at the age of 19 when she was persuaded by friends to attend a sports training weekend in Sheffield.
