Jonas Lorenzen Raun (born 22 August 1989 in Haderslev, Denmark) is former international motorcycle speedway rider from Denmark. Career During the 2005 Danish speedway season Raun reached the Danish Under 21 final, at age 16, and finished 15th overall. His first team in the British leagues was Peterborough Panthers, who he rode for during 2006. In 2006, he also rode for Polish third division side Kolejarz Rawicz. In 2007, he rode 32 matches for Newcastle Diamonds achieving an average of 5.50, before crashing in September. Individual Individual Championship The 2005 Danish Individual Speedway Championship was the 2005 edition of the Danish Individual Speedway Championship. The final was held at Fjelsted on 19 August. Elite League (speedway)
The Elite League was the top division of speedway league competition in the United Kingdom, governed by the Speedway Control Bureau (SCB), in conjunction with the British Speedway Promoters' Association (BSPA). It was sponsored by Sky Sports until the end of the 2013 season. In 2016, the Elite League featured 8 teams, unlike 10 in 2014, during a season which ran between March and October. Each team had a designated race day on which they normally staged their home fixtures, and they regularly had home and away fixtures scheduled in the same week. The Elite League operated for 20 years until British speedway was restructured with the formation of the SGB Premiership and SGB Championship. The Danish Under 21 Individual Speedway Championship is a competition for riders who are under the age of 21, holding a Danish passport and a valid DMU licence. The competition was first staged in 1960 and was won by Jorgen Hoffman. Although there was no competition in 1961, the event returned in 1962 and has been staged every year since. Motorcycle Speedway
Motorcycle speedway, usually referred to simply as speedway, is a motorcycle sport involving four and sometimes up to six riders competing over four anti-clockwise laps of an oval circuit. The motorcycles are specialist machines that use only one gear and have no brakes. Racing takes place on a flat oval track usually consisting of dirt, loosely packed shale, or crushed rock (mostly used in Australia and New Zealand). Kolejarz Rawicz
Kolejarz Rawicz (Railwayman Rawicz) is a motorcycle speedway team based in Rawicz, Poland. They currently race in the Polish Speedway Second League (2. Liga). History The club competed in the inaugural 1948 Polish speedway season, under the name of Motoklub Rawicz. The club's first team honour was winning the bronze medal in the Team Speedway Polish Championship in 1954 and the following season they went one better after winning the silver medal in 1955. Their leading rider Florian Kapała won the Polish Individual Speedway Championship in 1953 and 1956. The club was disbanded after the 1959 season and was not reformed until 1996. The club later won the Polish Speedway Second League three times in 2000, 2007 and 2012. Glasgow Tigers are a motorcycle speedway team from Glasgow, Scotland. Formed in 1928, the club adopted the Tigers nickname in 1946 and compete in the British SGB Championship. The team race at Ashfield Stadium, the home of Ashfield F.C., and celebrated their 75th anniversary in 2021.
