Jonas McDonnell
Jonas McDonnell (born 2 May 1986) is a Norwegian songwriter and musician from Hønefoss. He has written the lyrics to the song Grab the Moment as won Melodi Grand Prix 2017. The song was sung by JOWST and Aleksander Walmann. The song came in 10th place in the Eurovision Song Contest 2017 final in Kyiv in May 2017. Background McDonnell has been playing music since he was a teenager and has been a member of several bands since. As a 15-year-old, he made trance music using the music software Fruity Loops, and as a 16-year-old he started to rap and write his own songs. After a few years of rapping, he began to write and sing songs within the pop genre, accompanied by guitar. Hønefoss
__NOTOC__ Hønefoss is a town and the administrative center of the municipality of Ringerike in Buskerud county, Norway. Hønefoss is an industrial center of inner Østlandet, containing several factories and other industry. As of 1 January 2008, Hønefoss has 14,177 inhabitants. Volda University College ( no, Høgskulen i Volda or HVO) is one of the no-tuition state institutions in the system of higher education in Norway. Aleksander Walmann
Aleksander Walmann Åsgården (born 12 January 1986) is a Norwegian singer and songwriter. He represented Norway in the Eurovision Song Contest 2017 alongside Jowst with the song "Grab the Moment", finishing in 10th place. Early life and career Walmann was born in Porsgrunn, and grew up in a musical family through childhood. From the age of 13 and until he started playing music, Aleksander was an active snowboarder at an international level. In 2012, he participated in season one of ''The Voice – Norges beste stemme'', Norway's version of ''The Voice'', where he had Sondre Lerche as his mentor. Joakim With Steen (born 26 June 1989), better known as Jowst (usually stylised JOWST), is a Norwegian music producer and songwriter. He represented Norway in the Eurovision Song Contest 2017 with the song "Grab the Moment", along with vocalist Aleksander Walmann finishing in 10th place. Early life and career Steen was born in Trondheim and raised in Tiller. At age 14, his family moved to Steinkjer. At the age of fifteen his main focus was guitar, punk, songwriting and band. After finishing his sound and music production education at the renowned Noroff Institute in Oslo, where he later also worked as a teacher and held lectures in the same field.
